Theme: Serenity (as chosen by me)
Serenity according to the dictionary is calm, quiet, tranquil
Serenity according to a Mother is the first time she holds her baby in her arms.
Serenity according to a child is the time he snuggles up to his mother and just knows everything is just fine.
Serenity according to some is a place where they can get some quiet time like the beach, a cottage in the country …
Serenity according to me is when my conscious and subconscious are in sync. When external triggers can not touch my true self and when I can truly feel at peace.
Being in serenity took time and practice for me. A constant state of calm lets you think clearly, feel passionately, decide rationally, react calmly and most of all BE Serene. I am happy to say, that the last month has been completely and totally serene-mind, body, heart&soul.
7 Tips to Being In Constant Serenity:
- Meditate
- Pray
- Relax
- Think
- Breathe
- Forgive
- Let go
All these tips are not just to be done for the sake of doing. But, to be practiced from the core of your being, your true self. Working inside out is the best way to live, learn and be in constant serenity.
“Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm”~Z~
Now its your turn. What do you think? What is Serenity according to you??? Please share your thoughts in the comments.
With Immense Love and Gratitude,
~Zeenat~
Special Note: I am making a major shift in my life. Moving base to another city in the far east of India. As this article is published, I am unpacking boxes and resetting my new clean, green and serene home. I might not have internet access for about a week or more, so please excuse my absence in the conversations here and on my favorite blogs. Just know I will miss you all so much. Please pray that my shift goes smoothly and that I am back to my regular blog schedule soon. <hugs>

Serenity is the quiet – the completeness of the moment when everything is just so within me…
It is the quiet of the early morning
The power of nature
Detachment from drama
Holding hands
A purring cat
May your move go smoothly.
First above all, I’m glad that you making a major shift in your life, but I hope you’ll come back as soon as possible
“What is Serenity according to you???”
On this subject I thought many times. Here I’ll offer only a summary of that… What is Serenity to me?
Being in the presence of “difficult” and “stressful” situations, and yet retain a natural joy and steadiness of mind.
Thanks for this very nice article Zeenat. To me serenity is finding a quiet place and listening to music. Whenever I listen to music, I relax and it gives me so much energy. Thanks for sharing
Hi Z-
Lots of good energy for your transition…I can feel it is exactly what you need, so enjoy the process:)
Serenity to me:
Standing at the edge of the dock as the sun rises and kisses my harbor hello..the water is still, there is absolute quiet, all is well….such promise and hope, such beauty, such joy….
Bundling on the couch with my children all huddled together doing whatever it is we are doing…pouring over our latest photos, art project, book….
Walking on my comfort beach…the islands to my left, my hills in front of me, the expanse of beach and ocean…the sky above….where my Faith soars….
Much peace…
Hello Zeenat,
Your posts always make me feel calmer so thank-you.
To me serenity is lying on the grass, in the sunshine, listening to the birds and insects. That lovely feeling of half sleep when time seems to stop, there are no worries at all, and head, heart and body feel light and free.
I have no doubt your move will flow smoothly, very best wishes,
Kate.
Hi Zeenat
This is such a beautiful post and so heartfelt.
Your depictions of serenity in the mother and child are just wonderful.
I agree so much with your personal definition of serenity.
Also, you’ve moved again..All the best with that. Hope you like the new city as I am sure u wil
God bless
Hi Z. May your move go serenely and peacefully and may you find peace in your new home.
For me serenity is going beyond the ego who attacks, disturbs, judges and actually continuously creates chaos. Serenity for me means in every daily doing, moment from moment returning to a peaceful place knowing what I am and where I am . . . everything is perfect. Life around me will throw me off balance, you cannot stay serene in a world who is not serene itself, however knowing about serenity and knowing it is the best state for me to live in, supports me to get it back when it escapes me, moment by moment.
Much love to you and your family, xox Wilma
Beautiful thought.
“Serenity according to me is when my conscious and subconscious are in sync. When external triggers can not touch my true self and when I can truly feel at peace. “
Hi Zeenat – I love what you write .. and that serenity shines through. One day I hope I will reach your level of calm and peace – I’m sure & know I will! These words here are brilliant .. and so effective ..
All the best for the move and may it be as calm as possible .. with you online again as soon as is convenient and possible ..
with big hugs for the all the comings and goings at the moment .. Hilary
Hey Zeenat, awesome post and you just gotta love that word too (also a movie I love!)
Hope all is awesome with you!!
anything that gets me into a state where i feel free and I find the world I have always been looking for is being in serenity to me… so when do I feel that way? Well, when i am speaking to a close friend I havent spoken to for sometime, talking to my parents or playing with my sisters, listening to music… they all get me into that state…
just wanted touch on some of the things u mentioned tere:
1. Meditate – best way to get ur serenity. nothing can beat that
2. Pray – well, am not religious, but saying thank u for the stuff god has given us is more than enough….
3. Relax – seems so easy a thing. but for guys like me, easier said than done hehe
4. Think – not too sure. I mean at least in my case, the more I think the more tensed I get and the more i am away from serenity
5. Breathe – again one of the simplest things, but most of us actually dont do it….
6. Forgive – have learnt that over the years… its one of best feelings when u actually forgive someone
7. Let go – pretty much linked to forgiveness…. its hard to let go of the past and move forward… but thats the way to go….
As always loived the article…
that mustve been one the longest comments ever! hehe
Cheers!
Tavish
Hi Zen..
Still remembering those days. Hope ur transition went smoothly n u r getting settled in the new place well. All the best in this new phase.
Loved this article about Serenity n all the replies from others.
Serenity for me is in those moments when I feel peaceful even though there are many things around that contributes to the chaos that is life.
Moments when I go through those photos of my kids with them sharing those wonderful times.
Moments when I feel a work well done.
Moments I spend with some one I love, doing nothing, just being with them.
Moments just being part of a family.
Moments when I have made someone else happy, which in turn makes me happier. N so on.
I guess I just went on n on.. Just the way I talk..
Bless u all.. Very Happy to be a small part of this.
Thank u very much , Zeenat.
Take care. Keep smiling.
Sindhu.
Beautiful thoughts, for serenity is the peace found within the harmonious whole of our light.

Hope you are well, and many blessings of love and light to you sister.
Thinking of you Zeenat and wishing you a smooth transition! I love as you know what your move is all about, and how timely that you are writing about serenity at this time. Many people choose to see or make a move a chaotic time, but it need not be so. It can be beautiful and it can be serene. It all depends on the choices and thoughts we make throughout it.
Sending you lots of love, positive energy and blessings
@Zeenat,
Just stopping in to send you my love and hugs too.
Zeenat,
I love the quotes and thoughts on what serenity means. 7 ways you mentioned are great ways to achieve it. Meditation and letting go are two things I am working on right now.
Good luck with your move, I hope it goes well.
Im happy to see you here Zen girl! Im still waiting for that guest post..;)

Serenity to me is finding myself smiling ‘randomly’ for no apparent reason, except for feeling a deep sense of serene peace. Knowing that I am accompanied by my angels and guides at every moment. And even at a moment of ‘riff’ – I still feel the calmness, the love and peace that guides me.
