There are some questions that never need to hear the answer no.
Imagine what your life would be like if you always said yes. If you accepted every invitation, dared to enjoy every adventure and chose to be friends with strangers. Of course, this could put you in some risky positions but it could also make your life a whole lot more interesting. There are surely questions that should be answered with a resounding no. However there are many more questions that can be answered with a definitive yes.
Here is a look at five questions that you should dare to always answer yes to:
1.Should we do something different?
The best way to make your life more interesting is to take advantage of the opportunity to do something different whenever it presents itself.
When your hairstylist asks if you want to try a bold new cut or color, say yes. When your husband suggests trying a new restaurant for dinner, say yes. When your daughter asks if you can go on vacation to a place that you’ve never been instead of taking the same old family trip to see Grandma, say yes.
The worst thing that is going to happen is that you’ll know not to do it again. The best thing that can happen is that a world of new experiences will open up to you.
2.Do you like what you do with your day?
It is very important that you can answer yes to this question if you want to have a happy life. Of course, you may not love the type of work that you’re doing right now. You may not enjoy the day-to-day chores of your house. But you should be able to infuse enough positivity into your every day life to always be able to answer “yes”, to always be able to say that you generally like the way that you spend your time.
3.Are you successful?
We are all successful at something. Figuring out what that is and being able to explain it clearly to someone else is a powerful thing. It gives us confidence. It allows us to be proud of ourselves. It reminds us that we are good at something and that gives us the inner strength that we need to keep taking risks on trying new things.
4.Can I… ?
Negative self talk is the most damaging thing in anyone’s life. We often tell ourselves that we can’t do something, preventing the experience of finding out what we do and do not enjoy in life. Anytime that you find yourself asking, “Can I really do this?” you want to answer yes. Say yes even if you don’t believe it yet – you will eventually believe it!
5.Do you love yourself?
This is probably one of the most important questions that you will want to answer yes to. If you live your life the way that you want while always following your heart and your core values, then the answer to this question will always be yes!

Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes and Yes, Zeenat :)! I pass the test!!! It was not that hard. 🙂
Very creative of you to make such a strong impactful message. Thank you!
I think I like adventure a little more than my husband and funny enough, I used to be very conservative when I was younger – isn’t that crazy? I hope you answer Yes to these every day!
It’s good that you have a balance in your household – one who likes adventure to help the one that doesn’t get out a bit beyond their comfort zone. 🙂
There are some great reminders here Vern. You made my day!
Vern, I love the idea of focusing on Yes! It’s such a simple idea, but with such a powerful impact. I just love article that give one simple, easy to implement approach, in this case in 5 tasty flavors!!!! Yes!
[Except for hair coloring 🙂 Chemicals, yuck!]
Hair coloring is seriously bad for you – I always suggest that anyone saying yes to that go for the most natural options possible, even if you have to order it online.
Hi Vern,
Yes!!!
And, may I add:
Have you created today?
Are you living the life of your dreams?
Yes!
Yep, uh huh, oh yea *grin*…
I write everyday, which is my creation, and a highly enjoyable one at that, especially when it is the stuff I do for myself and not for my job.
Great post, Vern. And thanks for hosting him Z.
I love the power that the word ‘Yes’ can create in our lives….Amazing.
Yes, I am very grateful that Zeenat welcomed me onto this site. I have been more of a lurker up until now, but I have seen what a wonderful community this is, so it was an exciting opportunity.
Hi Zeenat and Vern,
Nice post Vern. Nothing can beat the word “Yes” especially to the fifth question you mentioned. Thanks for sharing
Very good post Vern!
All are good questions, and I think number 5 is a great place for anyone to start!
Thanks!
Saying yes! to life is a philosophy of many of the great teachers and visionaries of our time. I was strongly reminded of its importance last winter when I read Eckhart Tolles book, “The Power of Now” gain for the 4th or maybe 5th time. Your questions are truly thought-provoking ones, as saying yes! to life means taking the risks that come with the territory of becoming self aware, open-minded and open-hearted iand that means becoming vulnerable. For me saying renewing my commitment to say yes! to life far more often than I say no! is a daily goal.
With much love,
TiTi
