55 of The Most Inspiring Gratitude Quotes You Will Ever Need

“To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven.” ~Johannes A. Gaertner~

For me, my Gratitude practice is my most transformative positive habit yet. It picks me up when I am down. It makes me focus on the beautiful blessings in my life, no matter how hard things may be. A gratitude practice is the first step I urge my clients towards, to kick start their healing.

While I have written about my gratitude practice extensively before, I keep working to fine tune it daily.

My Gratitude practice:

I choose any time of day (more than once a day if I’m able) to practice gratitude. This short routine only takes about five minutes of my time. While lying or sitting down, I allow my breathing to slow and become steady. Paying attention to at least three full breaths. Now I record in my gratitude journal at least five things that I am grateful for today. As I record the items that I am grateful for, I stop after each entry.  Allowing myself a moment or two to really feel the gratitude for each of the things I write.

When we open our hearts to all the good fortune in our lives, negativity will take a back seat. We begin to realize that despite the difficulties life may hand us, we are truly blessed.

I have gratitude journals that are of all shapes and sizes 🙂 But, this little recent discovery in the world of gratitude journaling made me so happy.

I love these! Thanks for the extensive list of quotes on gratitude. I think I like and agree with #49 the most. “Be grateful for what you already have while you pursue your goals. If you aren’t grateful for what you already have, what makes you think you would be happy with more.” – Roy T. Bennett

  2. Zeenat, I love how you make your gratitude practice a felt experience by allowing yourself a moment or two to really feel the gratitude for each of the things you write. If we don’t do this, gratitude practice can become an empty routine that doesn’t really make a shift in our life. The big difference I feel is when we make it a felt experience. Thanks for these awesome quotes.

Love these quotes, Zeenat. Oprah’s words, #40 spoke to me, but so did many of the other quotes. I like to add three things that I’m grateful for at the end of my journal entry. Recently I attended a workshop where the leader was writing 30 things she was grateful for each day. She also turned her journal entries into more of a graphic which I thought made it more fun. Thank for for the needed reminder to be grateful for what we do have.

Appreciating #51: “Gratitude is riches. Complaint is poverty.” – Doris Day” I also appreciate learning about the gratitude app. THANK YOU…you are appreciated, Zeenat.

Really lovely quotes. “Gratitude is the fairest blossom which springs from the soul.” – Henry Ward Beecher was one of my favorites. I tend to live in gratitude daily but you have inspired me to start writing 5 things down per day. Thank you.

When I read this paragraph, I exhaled deeply: “When we open our hearts to all the good fortune in our lives, negativity will take a back seat. We begin to realize that despite the difficulties life may hand us, we are truly blessed.” What a beautiful reminder. I enjoyed reading your list of gratitude quotes, Zeenat. Thank you for sharing these beautiful quotes.
