2024 Word and Intention of the year: GROWTH

My favorite year end ritual since the past few years has been to choose a word for the year. Which also doubles as the intention of the year as well.

I’ve found that after years of setting goals and resolutions which fizzle out in intensity and appeal after a few weeks, a word based intention creates a wonderful level of focus. It is sort of an anchor to come back to when you feel lost along the way. My word for last year was: PEACE. And, I can say with great satisfaction that, that is the first thing I wrote as a something I have achieved in 2023 in my journal. Peace of mind, was at the forefront of all that I did in the last year. I’ve never really shared my Word of the year before on the blog, but this year I feel like its something I have tried and it works beautifully on my healing journey. SO, it WILL surely help you too.

7 Life Lessons 2023 taught me (+7 Positive Affirmations to close the year)

There are less than a handful of days left of 2023. A year that for me, was quite testing, but also life affirming. I like to think that everything I learned and experienced this year will make next year so much more special. These are some of the life lessons I have come to realize over these last 12 months.

As a practice for many years now, I love to end the year by reflecting on the year that has gone by. Its a practice that has helped me deepen my relationship with myself, it helps me learn from the experiences I’ve had this year and in general makes me more appreciative of the year that was.

For me to even begin reflecting on the year that has gone by, I have to sit with my journal. I have to look at all that I added to it in the past year and really notice where it is that I spent my energy.

Its such a great practice honestly. To really reflect on the year, I had to bring to mind everything about the year. Here’s how I did it:
