I’ve been experimenting with the power of affirmations and they haven’t worked very well for me. I find that when I use affirmations like “I feel happy” I create inner conflict unless I’m already feeling happy.

Bye bye Regret, here comes Positivity!

We all have something we’ve regretted doing – or not doing – in our past. From passing up a fantastic career opportunity to hurting someone’s feelings, experiencing regret is a way for us to learn. It’s part of being human.

Through research, life and experience, I have identified that the two largest areas of regret for people of all genders, socioeconomic backgrounds, and physical location were education and career. It seems that most people feel they could have done something better, more fulfilling, if only they’d taken advantage of opportunities to advance their schooling and career options.

The Glorious Ripple Effect of Positive Thinking

“A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events and outcomes. It is a catalyst and it sparks extraordinary results.” ~Wade Boggs 

Here is one line we hear way too often:

“Just think positive!”

I’ve heard it said in one way or another so many times. But what does thinking positive or having a positive attitude actually do for us?

It’s kind of like; when everyone says eat more greens, we know we should be eating more greens. You may even know how those nutrients keep you healthy, affect your weight, blood pressure and digestion and yet still don’t do it. It’s not until you really start to feel the difference for yourself and realize how much better it is that you REALLY start to order more salads and less deep fried stuff. Which also means, of course, that you have to start doing it, practicing it and being aware of the difference it makes before it becomes a real habit. Positive thinking works the same way.
