Simply Positive Ways to Just DO Good for the Joy of it

Simply Positive Ways to Just DO Good for the Joy of it 2“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.”~ John Wesley

Having traveled extensively to many countries and meeting many many souls, I have noticed one common negative trait in almost 95% of people(for sometime even me!). What is this negative trait?

Here it is: We do good(awesome!), but only because we feel like we are going to get something back in return(not so awesome!). Doing good for personal gain is no good at all.

As an occupational hazard, I tend to analyze everything. So, when someone I know, made a huge donation to a charity dear to my heart I was mighty pleased of course….up until this ‘someone’ started talking to press and media about the huge donation they had made. Now I know these people…I know they started out donating money to this charity out of the goodness of their heart. But, almost unconsciously, when that goodness of heart turned into self promotion and self gain is hard to pin point. Continue reading

Joy and Sorrow are Inseparable

“God turns you from one feeling to another and teaches by means of opposites so that you will have two wings to fly, not one” ~ Rumi

As the month of July ends, I can’t help but think of all the opposites our life is full of. More than half of this year is over and I am in a sort of introspective mood, about how much I have accomplished in the first half of this year. While there are so many goals that I had set for myself for this year, I knew realistically that I would put my full effort to reach them…and not beat myself up about not completing them, if I couldn’t. I’m happy that I am working towards some goals which will materialize at the end of this year..but there are some, I have not even begun. And that is ok too. All in good time.

Light and dark, night and day, happy and sad, negative and positive.

One is incomplete or rather unappreciated without the other. Continue reading

How to deepen your relationships with the help of communication

This is a beautiful Article by Heidi Paavilainen who is a Transformative coach, Yoga teacher and Writer. Enjoy darlings!

The other day we were spending the evening with my partner in our newly met friends’ home. We were only couples there and at some point our conversation moved to love and how often do we express our feelings of affection.

Someone mentioned how in Finland we almost never say the words “I love you”. Since I have been away from my home country for a while I was first puzzled by this statement, but soon recognized how that might be true. In our culture we are simply not used to say those three words.

Even if I believe that we don’t need to limit our expression of love to words, I’m still a big believer in expressing our good feelings to one another.

Not only do we make people around us to feel good and deepen the feeling in our relationships, but also share more of who we really are. Continue reading

The Art of Talking to Yourself by Vironika Tugaleva~ Review and Author Interview

I’m all for healing and personal development. To say the self help and psychology section of a book store is my favorite place in the world…is literally under stating it 🙂 I could be lost in there for hours with the world shut off to me.

Vironika Tugaleva Author of THE ART OF TALKING TO YOURSELF

Vironika Tugaleva Author of THE ART OF TALKING TO YOURSELF

Over the years I’ve read numerous books that promise magic formulas and unrealistic(sometimes drastic!) ways to attain happiness and success. The Art of Talking to Yourself by Vironika Tugaleva is NOT one of those books. And I’m so glad it isn’t!

Its raw and real.

This is a book which invites you to look within and find the Light within. Vironika guides you to become a beautifully healed version of yourself all through self mastery and loving self talk. She gently teaches you to tap into your own inner wisdom, your light which doesn’t require another expensive course to attain happiness and peace.

Her take on this whole self help business is so refreshing, I wanted to hug her for her honesty and pure spirit. Continue reading

5 Positive Ways You NEED to Be Humble for more Happiness

“We must not be wise and prudent according to the flesh. Rather, we must be simple, humble and pure.” ~ Francis of Assisi

In our modern society, full of corporate power and stardom, being humble, being modest is often viewed as a weakness.  And the funny part is, we celebrate entitlement and elitist behavior in the name of social norm.

What hope do we have as a society if we celebrate over confidence and elitist attitudes? Where is the spiritual growth in that? Aren’t we all getting rather materialistic?

This is the reason being humble is such a deep necessity for our society at large. But can we go change every person on this planet? NO! That’s literally impossible…so then what? Do we go on living the same way? Can we really find happiness in this cesspool of over indulgence? Continue reading
