Positivity+Love=Awesome!

Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results. ~Willie Nelson

With the year end coming closer than ever, we all find ourselves looking back at  the year gone by with its highs and lows.I know I am thinking it. But, today as I embark on this adventure to create my best year yet, I choose to focus on the positives, the highs of the year gone by and learn from the lows.

My little girl is going to get her winter break from school soon and I plan to go visit my mother and not so little brother for it. We usually look forward to our holidays, cause it gives each of us a chance to catch up with the other, while having a marvelous time. For my mum though, she looks forward to seeing what new stuff my little girl has learned in the time apart. They will be geared with love, cameras and yummy food, while we will be geared with love and only love 🙂

When it comes to spending time with family over the holidays, we all especially have this “issue” with it. We either tend to avoid it(the holiday& the issue) or go for the holiday, with long faces and end up ruining the whole experience.

Alright, we might not always agree to the ways of our relatives and we might not always like their ways, but that should be no excuse not to enjoy a holiday with them. We each think differently, and that’s what makes each and every one of us interesting. How about focusing on that “beautiful difference” for a change, rather than making it the enemy.

We need to give each other the space to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our diversity. We need to give each other space so that we may both give and receive such beautiful things as ideas, openness, dignity, joy, healing, and inclusion. ~Max de Pree

Focus on the Positive infused with love

When you meet anyone, be it family or friends or just acquaintances, try to only focus on their positives. Every-time a negative trait comes forth, just shrug it aside and replace it with a positive trait. I personally love thinking of each and every person I meet like a huge giant glowing heart 🙂
Example- if a relative is too inquisitive, then feed his/her inquisitiveness with a funny story about you, all the while focusing and seeing them as a giant beautiful glowing heart. Watch them light up after you have shared your story and feel how good it feels to you. You will instantly start seeing that person in a different more love-filled light. While focusing on their positives also add a bit of love into the mix. Positivity plus love makes for an awesome combination to mend, make and enhance any relationship.

Love one another and help others to rise to the higher levels, simply by pouring out love. Love is infectious and the greatest healing energy.
~Sai Baba

As I mentioned before, I’m off on my holiday next week. I usually travel light. I don’t carry my laptop etc with me. Just the basics. I don’t want to work on my holiday right 🙂 I do ofcourse carry my awesome phone where I can keep in touch with all of you i.e. blog, email, twitter, facebook.
Sometimes, when I’m at my mums, and I need to use the computer(for personal stuff), my little brother teases me to no end. Let alone tease, he will let me use it only when he is not on it. He is a computer 3d Animator and never off it! So you can imagine my dilemma. But, I’m the positive and loving older sister. Since, we usually meet after so long, we talk into the wee hours of the night. And, then when he is all soft on me after sharing his fun life’s secrets and all that he has been upto, he himself says with a hug, “Didi(elder sister), use the laptop whenever you like.” Isn’t he the sweetest?

I could state many such examples, which include aunts, and relatives from all over. All relationships can become awesome with just the right amount of positivity + love.

So, don’t worry about the holidays. Go enjoy them with your family and friends and keep picturing them as big beautiful hearts. How can your holiday not be Awesome then 🙂

Here is wishing all of you an awesome, love-filled holiday.

What are your plans for the coming holidays? How do you plan to make them love-filled and memorable? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Stay Tuned Next week by popular demand from all my beautiful readers I will talk about how to make the Most positive and productive New year Resolutions Ever! So that you, can start the new year with a big happy positive BANG 🙂

  1. I love this time of the year when my family, friends and I celebrate the longest night and shortest day of the year on Winter Solstice. We have many traditions we have invented and the only gift we exchange is the greatest gift of all — time. During this season as we each make time for one on one talks and we catch up on each others life events, hopes, dreams and plans.

We like jigsaw puzzles so we have a table set up and as we fit each piece into the puzzle scene we chat and fit the pieces of our relationship into the puzzle of life.

At our indoor Winter Solstice celebration each year we have a “peace tree” or, if you prefer, a “wishes tree”. It’s decorated with only white lights, a golden dove on the top, and white wishes cards that boast a blue peace dove on one side and a golden ribbon affixed to one corner.

As each person arrives they greet everyone, and then they sit down at a small table and contemplate the upcoming year, while they write a wish for their community and the world on their card. Once they have record their wish they hang their card on the tree with the blue dove facing outward so the wish remains unseen.

When the feasting, singing, dancing and clean up are done and we are prepared to leave. Each person goes to the tree and chooses a card randomly and holds it until the last person has their card in hand. We form a circle and each one of us then reads the wish recorded on the card out loud. Then we sing our final song and disperse with cards in hand to hang on our own trees at home.

I have always found it easy to focus on the positive qualities I witness in my family and freinds at this time of the year. As the year draws to and I find myself listening as they speak and giving thanks for having them in my life.

Thank you so much for provoking the positive all year long. You are a special person in my life and I appreciate receiving everything you share.

  2. I really hope you’ll have a great time during your trip, Zeenat. 🙂 That’s what I love about your blog, the positiveness shines through and you do practice what you’ve shared here. I treasure my time with family very much but I still need a lot of courage to put my laptop aside when traveling. But I won’t let myself to spoil the fun for being 24/7 on it or what’s the point of vacation, right? 🙂 Just a quick check on clients emails for less than 15 minutes, I think that’s a good start eh?

  3. Excellent quote. We are what we think, Zeenat. It all about working on our goal, keeping our eye on the positive results which incinerates the negativity. It always best to be an optimist. I deem it the only choice in this world. The only way to live. I know you feel the same. Nice post Zee!!

    1. HI J!
I love what you said..more cause I’m much of an eternal optimist too 🙂
Positivity attracts all good things….happy things in our lives….and positive goals..oh they are the icing on the cake so to speak…
Thank you fro your sweet comment here.
      Much love~

  4. Your recommendation to focus on the positives whether in a person or in a situation is an excellent one. The tendency for many of us is to zoom in on what’s wrong or the negatives.

It sounds like you are going to have some nice time catching up with family.

I will be going on a year-end holiday in the last week of December. It’s almost like a yearly ritual that my family vacations somewhere abroad and we are once again choosing to do it over Christmas.

Have a great Christmas and Happy Holidays!!!

    1. Hi Evelyn,
You’re right…we do unnecessarily zoom in on the negatives…when in my opinion generally, everyone has far more positive qualities than negative ones…
Well seems like your year end holidays are gonna be fun fun fun tooo… 🙂
      Happy holidays to you too!
      Lots of love,~

  5. Hi Zeenat,

It is always a good idea to be positive. Sometimes, I’m not always positive about certain situations, but I’m glad you wrote about it. A wonderful reminder!

I may be traveling to see my family and I will do my best to be positive and loving. 😉

Have a great time and enjoy your holiday!

    Evelyn

  7. Beautiful Zeenat! I wish I had your capacity to always see the good in people and was able to set aside my discomfort when around certain people. What a timely post! I’m just about to call my brother, who I love, to tell him that this year I’m going to skip the family Christmas celebration (two hours away from where I live) and stay local with friends. He’ll be upset, as he loves this time of year and always makes sure I’ll be in attendance… but I decided this year that I wanted to be with friends who are like family — friends who understand & accept me, and who enliven my soul.

I wish you a jolly good holiday, full of love, laughs & peace!

    Much love,
    Megan

    1. HI My Joyful Angel,
You know…there are times our hearts know best…and you spending you holidays with like souls makes up for all the love and happiness that is to enter your life….I think each and every person brings their own share of joy into our lives..
May you have a wonderfully happy and peaceful holiday!
      So Much Love~

  8. Zeenat — All of the sites I visit during the holidays, I can always count on yours to have the most calming and loving message.

I know you will have a wonderful holiday with your family and I can feel the love that you send out to ALL of us.

    Blessing be you:~)

  9. I know I forget the core principals of relationships. Love is where we can grow. When we get caught up in what a relationship isn’t we are focusing on the negative. We need to bring our thoughts back to positive thoughts. It’s not easy, but using visualizations like you suggest is a great start.

  10. Hi Zeenat! I love the concept of concentrating on the positive. I try to do this all the time when I encounter people. Regardless of what they are saying, I try to see them as their true nature, as pure love and light. It works great and then I end up having the most joyous encounter with everyone on my path.
Thanks for this beautiful reminder. Loving blessings!

  11. Zeenat, it’s been almost a year since I’ve stopped by — I think my Spirit Guides poked me to you, because your “giant glowing heart” is EXACTLY the image I want to bring to my encounters with anyone and everyone from this day forward. This is something I recently realized (or rather, remembered yet again) — thank you! You are, of course, the giantest, glowingest heart around :),

    1. Hi Jeanne, I’m so glad you stopped by…I love seeing you here and your smile just brightened up my day. Thank you for your amazing comment here.
      Much Love~
