Simplicity and Spirituality – Raoka

As I focused on “Simplicity” last month, I couldn’t help but think that the chase after a wealthy life style is a rather complicated affair: the standards keep shifting, and the worries are many. That’s why Spiritual contemplatives and mystics speak so often of ‘detachment’. By taking our focus off of getting stuff, we have more of ourselves available to focus on learning to love rightly, or taking time to be face-to-face with those in need, or learning , or learning how to depend on the Spirit. A Prayer for Peace and Love – 26/11

Today it is exactly TWO years after the Terror attack on the city of Mumbai at the Taj Hotel. The city was under this terror attack for a whole day. Innocent lives were taken hostage and then killed by these terrorist.

When it comes to being a girl, I was fortunate enough to be treated like a precious creature. From the time I can remember, my dad always told me, I was more a boy to him than my two other brothers. At the time I never really understood this statement. But, when he said the same thing to me on my 18th birthday, he added “You are more capable than any man you will ever meet.
