Congratulations! You’re not perfect!

“Congratulations!  You’re not perfect!

It’s ridiculous to want to be perfect anyway.  But then, everybody’s ridiculous sometimes, except perfect people.  You know what perfect is?  Perfect is not eating or drinking or talking or moving a muscle or making even the teensiest mistake. Perfect is never doing anything wrong – which means never doing anything at all.  Perfect is boring!  So you’re not perfect!  Wonderful!  Have fun!  Eat things that give you bad breath!  Trip over your own shoelaces!  Laugh!  Let somebody else laugh at you!  Perfect people never do any of those things.  All they do is sit around and sip weak tea and think about how perfect they are.  But they’re really not one-hundred-percent perfect anyway.  You should see them when they get the hiccups!  Phooey!  Who needs ’em?  You can drink pickle juice and imitate gorillas and do silly dances and wear funny hats and be as imperfect as you please and still be a good person.  Good people are hard to find nowadays.  And they’re a lot more fun than perfect people any day of the week.”

    Zeenat,

A very lighthearted and humerous look at perfectionism, who wants it anyway? Being imperfect adds colour to our lives, provides us with all the wonderful things we love, like the people we meet. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful Sunday morning post.

    Regards

    Paul

    1. Hi Paul,
Youre ss right…being imperfect adds the colors of the rainbow and more to our lives…why trade that for anything else…. 🙂
Glad you liked this post 🙂

  5. Oh, yay! What a fun post! I have a gorilla (G) who does silly dances, and I laugh at him and dance with him … and make up songs! Thank you for this lovely little reminder, Zeenat. 🙂

    1. Hi carla,
I think i might borrow your gorilla for a bit….but my gorilla will throw a banana throwing fit… 😉
Both our gorillas are such fun! Awesome!
      Glad you liked this 🙂

  6. This kind of fun is what being happy is all about.

Oh my goodness. If anyone ever sees me trying to be perfect I would hope they’d be kind enough to give me a reality nudge – (or slap, if indicated). What freedom and release to understand that just being yourself is perfection enough.

    George

    1. Oh George,
      Youre one funny cracker 😉
Slap no no..but nudge you i will 😉
Its freedom alright…knowing yourself and embracing your imperfections…!Thats waht living is all about.

  7. Zeenat!! I am so perfectly imperfect, I can hardly believe how wonderfully flawed I am. And loving me this way. 🙂

Those pictures made me laugh with joy. That cat! That monkey! That horse! What fun today here.
    xo

    1. Hi Jannie,
Ohh how gorgeously flawed you are….but youre still my absolute favorite gal!
Those pics made me giggle so so much…….i just had to add them to the post. They so imperfectly brought the message of this imperfections together.
      xoxo…

  8. Hi Zeenat .. love them .. love the pictures .. the purrfect peoples .. thank goodness we’re not perfect .. sadly not everyone can laugh at themselves and keep themselves in balance.

Yeah .. I’m off to have a bit of garlic with my supper tonight! Regrettably I leave things til tomorrow .. I shouldn’t I know – but life goes on – at least it seems to here in England?!

I am having a wonderfully imperfect day, which looks set to continue .. but I’ll do a few things that make me happy to do .. and a few things I should be doing .. a little of this and a little of that ..

Love the post .. such fun .. Hilary

    1. HI Hilary,
Glad you enjoyed this purrrfect post 🙂 Those pics were just so imperfectly perfect..that i had to use them 🙂
And I love garlic in my foods…cant live without it!
      MuchLove~

  9. Hi Zeenat,

I absolutely love this quote and wholeheartedly agree! The pressure of perfection is a waste of time. I always tell people that there is no need to torture oneself or worry about not having it all together. No one has it all. No one is perfect and that is why we are here. To grow and learn. Might as well have some fun while we are it.

Hope all is well with you and your family!

With love and blessings always! 🙂

    1. HI Nadia,
Waste of time waste of energy and waste of all things good and happy…thats what running behind perfectionism brings!
We are all works in progress..and the sooner we accept that..the sooner we will truly start living.
Thank you fro your beautiful thoughts on this.
      Much Love,
p.s. family is doing fine Nadia. Thank you for asking 🙂

  10. Hi Z! Awwww, this blog is PERFECT! 🙂 haha! Seriously, it’s wonderful – I leave all perfection to the Divine. I personally don’t mess with it! 🙂
    Hugs
    SuZen

  11. Dear Dear Z!!!! I have missed you SO much!. I just love this post. It is very timely for me and I just wrote one that will go up tomorrow that talks a bit about the whole perfection thing. Well, it’s an aspect of my post. So this is SOOOOOOOOO timely for me.

I love the “irreverent reverent” tone of this post. 🙂 I laughed out loud over the title and then photo and then the writing! It is so darn human!! It makes us relax and let go and embrace our humanity. We stop walking around on egg shells, trying to be perfect, which so many of tend to do. This post is just one of those truths that lets us all breathe!! I love people and things that make me feel this way. It’s one of the reasons I love you so much. You are so wise and deeply aware and compassionate and…just everything good…and yet you can STILL write something that reminds us all to let go, trust, don’t worry, and have fun and laugh. Thank you my sweetest Z. Know that you are always with me. Work has kept me away, but I often pop in and read and just LOVE you and your full-on Life Giving energy! Love, Robin

    1. HI Sweet and dearest Robin,
Its warms my heart to read your beautiful words. You always make my heart smile so wide. Thank you for being you!
I will be stopping by and reading the post 🙂 Anything you write..i just have to read.
An as you said it so perfectly we truly do need to embrace our own humanity. The imperfection makes for breathing easy. And we all need to let go so many times in our lives.
Thank you for being here..and sharing your awesome energy. I truly appreciate you and love you.
      Much Love~

  12. Woah, I wish the world had more people like you. Girls wanting a totally ‘perfect’ tall dark and handsome guy as a boyfriend, dad wanting a perfect son, mothers wanting perfect bahu’s …sigh.

Where is there ‘fun’ in all this.

Keep up the ‘perfect’ work 😛

    1. HI Rohan,
You had me laughing out loud with your comment 🙂
How come you guys think that girls are the ones looking for tall dar and handsome..when in fact your guys are looking for tall, fair and beautiful 😉 hmm…
But as is said..wheres the fun in that ha!
      Glad you liked this 🙂

    1. HI My Joyful Angel,
I love it…Imperfect is catching on isnt it 😉 And silliness and fun all the say! YAY!
So glad you loved this post 🙂
      Much love~

  13. I’m far, far from being perfect and proud of it. 🙂 I love this message for it’s honest, very truthful. I’m not an expert but at least I’m learning and passionate about my work and niche. I hope I could visit everyone, everyday but I know it’s impossible for I’m can’t be omnipresent. But one thing I know is when I’m here, I’m going to treasure the moment we still able to meet via comment/tweets and give each other a virtual *hug*!

    1. HI Ching Ya,

Thank you fro your lovely hug 🙂
      Much love~

  14. Firstly, nice post… Imperfection is awesome! I think that’s what makes us unique…. imagine a world where everyone’s perfect?! it’ll be like a mass china doll production… Yikes! No fun at all…

    1. HI Krittika,
A whole world full of chinese dolls…yikes!!! Seriously..its scary…I prefer imperfection anyday 🙂
Glad you liked this post 🙂

  15. Excellent message here! When we embrace all parts of ourselves the good and not so great, we can come to a space of honesty and truth. This post is inspiring!

    1. HI Baker,
I am so glad you liked this post Baker! Embracing our self our true self is truly the way to life a full and fulfilling life.

  16. Hi Z, perfect as an ideal is nothing more than an illusion. Growth, on the other hand, is something I can sink my teeth into. Of course, lack of perfection is what makes plenty of room for growth. I consider myself to be a perfect example of imperfection!

    1. Hi JOnathan,
I agree with you….Growth is something to strive for …..not perfection! If you think you are perfect..then where is the growth or the fun win that ?? right!
Oh and youre such a good perfectly imperfect example 🙂

  17. Dear Zeenat,

This is an amazing post, who wants to be perfect anyway…Ha ha 🙂

I think being perfect, it applies to many restrictions. Therefore, I cherish my imperfection and that is my Freedom. Thank you for the Perfect article. Just know, that you are loved, Zuzanna

  18. I enjoy your blog posts so much. They contain an immense amount of wisdom that you present in a wonderful way. What a delightful and insightful post this one is. It made me laugh out loud at my own foibles. I used to be a perfectionist. Then I became conscious and now I am learning how to let go and grow.

    Love and Peace,
    TiTi

  19. LOL This is just what I needed during a stressful day. Is there any way I could interest you in joining the DoFollow CommentLuv KeywordLuv community? I know many others who would love your posts. Information in the post linked to this comment.

  20. How did I miss this when I need it the most? The Miss Perfectionist admits that it’s no fun reaching for perfection but just for excellence in all that we do………and of course being who we are is just perfect as it is without being “perfect”. Thank you Zeenat!
