“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.” ~ Viktor Frankl
I have come to believe that the moments at the beginning and end of our day hold a quiet kind of power.
Before I reach for my phone, before I begin responding to the world and thinking about everything that needs to be done, I have a small window of time that belongs only to me. And at night, before I close my eyes, I have another opportunity to pause, breathe, and gently let the day go.
I don’t see these moments as a way of forcing myself to “think positively.” Life doesn’t always feel positive, and I don’t believe we need to pretend that it does. Instead, I think of these practices as a way of choosing how I want to relate to myself…especially when life feels uncertain, overwhelming or simply too full.
When I place my hand over my heart and take a few slow breaths, I am reminding myself that I don’t need to have everything figured out. I can meet myself where I am. I can choose a kinder thought. I can take one small step rather than demanding that I know the whole way forward.
Over time, I have found that these small moments of intention can become something much more than a routine. They become a way of coming home to myself.
I invite you to try the following morning and evening practices in whatever way feels natural to you. There is nothing here to get perfect. Just a few quiet minutes to listen inward, reconnect with yourself and remember that you are allowed to begin again.
A Powerful Morning and Evening Practice for Positive Thinking, Inner Peace & Self-Trust

A Powerful Morning Practice for Positive Thinking
Before reaching for your phone in the morning, take two minutes for yourself:
Place your hand over your heart. Take three slow breaths.
Then say:
I am grateful for this new day.
I don’t need to have everything figured out today.
I trust myself to take one step at a time.
My worth is not dependent on productivity or approval.
I choose thoughts that support my growth and peace.
I can meet challenges without abandoning myself.
I am allowed to begin again.
Then ask yourself:
“What quality do I want to embody today?”
Perhaps it is: Peace. Courage. Patience. Compassion. Wisdom.
Let that quality guide your day.
An Evening Affirmation for Letting Go
Before going to sleep, take a few quiet moments.
Put your hand over your heart and say:
“Today is complete.
I release the conversations I cannot change, the mistakes I cannot undo, and the worries I cannot solve tonight.
I have done what I could with the awareness I had.
I forgive myself for what I could not control.
I allow my mind and body to rest.
Tomorrow will bring its own wisdom.
For tonight, I choose peace.”
Take a slow breath.
And let the day end.
Closing thoughts ❤
I remind myself often that I don’t have to earn my right to rest.
I don’t have to accomplish enough, understand everything, or get every decision right before I can offer myself compassion. I am human, and some days will feel peaceful and expansive while others will feel messy, uncertain, or heavy.
I am learning to make room for all of it.
For me, this is what these little rituals are really about. Not becoming endlessly positive or perfectly calm, but learning to stay connected to myself through whatever the day brings.

This is a great practice and reminder Zeenat. I used to be more intentional about starting and ending the day.
