Rumi’s words have been a source of solace to my soul for a very long time. I grew up listening to my wise and philosophical dad quote Rumi on many occasions and then when I did actually grow up, I began to slowly understand the depth of his words. To this day, his words, his philosophy on all things love and life hits home for the heart centred Sufi girl in me.

All those who know me, know how much I LOVE “love”. And, when it comes to understanding the many layers of love…none other than Rumi’s words have the power to tug at the heart. Lately, I have been immersed in family functions, get togethers, exams with study times, hubby time, baby time, mommy time, brother time. The occupational hazard of being a Counselor is that I analyse everything..literally! ….. I kept observing my family and myself, like I probably would not have, if it hadn’t been for being so immersed in my family’s needs these past couple of weeks.

What I noticed was that when it comes to family, we go that extra mile and partake extraordinary measures to make sure they are fine. Whether we feel upto it or not, we try to make sure they are fine in all possible ways. We cant see any members of our family sad, upset, gloomy or disturbed. Least of all hurt physically or emotionally.
