One Positively Empowering Question ~ Raoka

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who are alive.” ~Howard Thurman

How do you empower yourself?

Some things you do or say empower yourself. And some things dis-empower you. Most often its the positive thoughts that create empowering beliefs and the negative thoughts that dis-empower big time. When you find yourself in a challenging situation, it’s helpful to have a powerful plan of action. Rather than a script or a rule that limits you, I suggest you ask yourself a question that guides you. Continue reading “One Positively Empowering Question ~ Raoka”

Equanimity Kung Fu Panda Style ~ Raoka

“Inner Peace. Inner..inner…inner peace.” ~ Master Shifu from Kung Fu Panda 2

Last week I had the pleasure of watching Kung Fu Panda 2 with my little girl. It was her very first movie in the cinema. She already had the panda PO toy, so she could identify with him. Po the adorably large, but beautifully intuitive panda is the main character in the Kung Fu Panda Movie Series. Po is large, with a big heart and amazingly innocent attitude. He goes from being a noodle cook to becoming the Dragon warrior or The Chosen One.

My experience of watching the movie was beautiful. I loved every bit of the movie and so did my little one 🙂

While watching the movie though I couldn’t help think of how ‘realistic’ all the plots were and how well it fit in with the Raoka Theme of Equanimity. Continue reading “Equanimity Kung Fu Panda Style ~ Raoka”

How to ‘Create’ Your Dream Destiny~ Raoka

“Make every thought, every fact, that comes into your mind pay you a profit. Make it work and produce for you. Think of things not as they are but as they might be. Don’t merely dream – but create!”~ Robert Collier

When the theme for april’s raoka article was suggested by an anonymous admirer/reader, I was mighty excited. Not because it was an easy theme to concentrate on, but more importantly it was a theme I had been working on ‘part time’ all my life.

“Create” is the theme of my life
Yes, Create. I am a lover of all things New and I crave a newness in my life often. To simply state I get bored far too easily and Creating has become my go to way for infusing my life with that Newness I want everytime. Yup, its cheap, its enriching to the heart and very good for those grey cells up there. Continue reading “How to ‘Create’ Your Dream Destiny~ Raoka”

How to Open Your Heart to Warmth ~ Raoka

“May you have warmth in your igloo, oil in your lamp, and peace in your heart” Eskimo Proverb

Having grown up in a desert (muscat) all my life, I was never a fan of the warm temperatures there, that could literally burn your skin and make you dehydrated in a matter of seconds. Sun block and Sun glasses weren’t optional there, they were a necessity. But now, after some traveling and being around the cold wintry places of the world, including where I stay now, I kind of have come to appreciate the warm temperatures and the sun. Just goes to show this past winter was really chilly in this part of the world, more than I was ever used to before. Continue reading “How to Open Your Heart to Warmth ~ Raoka”

Simple Ways to Have New Beginnings Everyday ~ Raoka

Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be.

New Beginnings have this amazing butterfly effect on me. On focusing on New Beginnings in January, I couldn’t help but think of how the turn of this date from 2010 to 2011 is so so new. It is, in all ways a new year, a new chance, a new experience, a new Beginning…which holds potential to so much more. Continue reading “Simple Ways to Have New Beginnings Everyday ~ Raoka”
