Positively Change The World{Inspirational Thought}

When I was a very young woman, I wanted to positively change the world.  I found it was difficult to positively change the world, so I tried to positively change my nation.  When I found I couldn’t positively change the nation, I began to focus on my town/area.  I couldn’t positively change the town/area, so I tried to positively change my family.

Now, as a grown woman, I realize the only thing I can change positively is myself, and suddenly I realize that if long ago I had positively changed myself, I could have made a positive impact on my family.  My family and I could have made a positive impact on our town.  Their positive  impact could have changed the nation and I could indeed have positively changed the world. But, its not too late, so, I am trying to positively change the world NOW.

Are you trying to positively change the world too ?

The Positive Change Begins With YOU!

    1. HI Jonathan,
Thank you for your vote of confidence in me 🙂 Sometimes its difficult to always and constantly remain positive ….but being aware certainly helps 🙂

    1. HI Tim,
Thank you fro your compliment….but somehow the feeling while writing this made it so much more real. I guess when the feelings pour out the writing isnt half bad 😉
Thank for your lovely complimentary comment 🙂

  1. The only thing we can indeed change is ourselves. And then, through our actions and being, others might be positively impacted, and choose to change themselves. Zeenat, you do this, in everything I have witnessed. You shine magnificent light onto the world – and that light does not go unnoticed. You ARE changing the world, right here – through your words. And I know that you are doing this not only here, but in so many aspects of your life. Keep shining, my friend! You always have…

    1. HI Lance,
We are all changing the world isnt it 🙂
Lance you change the world too…with all the love you share and give, youre an inspiration to me and everyone who you meet.
The world certainly needs more people like you to shine their light.
Thank you for always being so kind with your beautiful thoughts and words. Your light helps me see clearly….Thank you 🙂

  2. I’m doing my best, just as you are, to change the world. It’s one step at a time, though. Immediate change that is positive doesn’t exist. It’s the long term change that counts 🙂

    1. Hi John,
Just being conscious enough to know we are making the effort to change the world through our simple actions makes all the difference. Its a start and the ripples are already in motion…..as you say the long run….maybe closer than you think 😉

  3. Yes, Z, just like others have said, you ARE changing the world. You’ve touched so many hearts and reached so many people that it’s truly amazing. And just like ripples spread out from a pebble thrown into a lake, the positive effects you have had on people have spread to other people again and again until it’s almost just like you’ve positively changed the world…already 🙂

    1. Oh Jay, Thank you for your kind and supportive words 🙂 I believe we are all doing our part in changing the world….and you and your writing are certainly my source of solace 🙂

    1. HI Nishaanth,
Glad you liked the message of changing the world. What fun youve started working on it already !! Do let me know how the effects are ….

  5. Hi Zeenat,

Absolutely beautiful! It reminds me of the very famous saying by Gandhi which is “be the change you want to see in the world”. I do whatever I can to be a positive force wherever I go. I do my best to spread love and light. Sometimes I get weird looks and other times I get lots of smiles. I just keep on going because I would not want to be any other way.

    Hope all is awesome! 🙂

    1. Nadia,
That quote by Gandhi is certainly something to live by.
You are such a beautiful ray of love Nadia…I am certain like you have touched my life with your beautiful words…there must be so many who have been positively touched by you and your words. Youre already the change :)And that to me is simply awesome !

  6. I just read something similar on another blog about how world peace starts within. I really do believe in this, Zeenat, and think what you’ve posted is incredibly wise, inspirational, and so very needed in today’s world. Imagine what life would be like if everyone started striving toward inner peace? Just like this quote said — big change would happen.
It starts with us, and I thank you for being on “our” side as you continue to spread messages of love, positivity and peace everywhere you go.

    1. Thank you my joyful angel 🙂
Life and this world would certainly be heaven if we all started striving towards inner peace…thats bliss…truly….
      Lots of love

  7. You are absolutely correct that the only one we can change is ourselves. Few realize that every choice we make each day creates the world we live in. Instead of the world we have today, if we simply make different choices there would be abundance for all.

I know most won’t believe that but it is very true. If we use small towns as an example it will become clear. Imagine there are two small towns with very different leaders.

In the first small town the people are generous and willing to pay reasonable prices for the goods and services they buy. Their neighborhood businesses thrive because they have decent profit margins so they can provide quality services and better products that last longer. The business owners live comfortably and spend their profits in their community. They give generously to their local churches and those churches make sure no one goes hungry or does without necessities. Businesses thrive and expand and so does the town. Everyone has more affluence because of the decisions these townspeople make every day.

In the second small town everyone wants to buy everything as cheaply as possible. Instead of buying from their neighborhood businesses they drive to the big superstore. One by one the small businesses close. Eventually all that are left are the bank, the grocery store and the hardware store. Since there are few small businesses any more there are also fewer jobs. More and more neighbors take jobs and commute to the big city so they start buying their groceries and hardware there too. They move their bank account so they can get to the bank on their lunch hour. The hardware store closes, and the grocery and the bank. Their town is now a bedroom community of commuters who work somewhere else. All because of the decisions each townsperson made each day.

This has played out across the United States for many decades now. Some people started to understand what was happening and a few towns and even communities within larger cities reversed this trend.

Imagine living in a friendly little town where you live and work? Do you know that it can cost a fraction of what you pay just for housing in a city? Anyone with an online income can greatly reduce their overhead by moving. Unemployed or underemployed? Now is the perfect time to relocate.

I found a post about that just for this comment that I hope you’ll read Thriving on a Small Town Income. If you are in a small town that is NOT thriving contact me. I know what you need to do to attract and create affluence for all right in your area.

    1. Hi Gail,
Thank you for sharing such lovely thoughts with us here. I am sure the readers wil love to read about how to thrive in a small town 🙂
Its commendable what youre doing…Keep it up !

  8. Hi Z
How would I feel if somebody wanted to change me?
I even feel resistant when me wants to change me.
It only happens when I really desire to and when I have a great image to work towards to.
It is vision that will inspire change, it is the way I live my life that will inspire the ones around me.
THAT inspires my change and your blog holds images of what we can work towards to.
THAT is priceless and a great gift.
    Love Wilma

    1. Hi Wilma,
I am so with you…trying to change ME is the biggest and most hardest thing if its forced. But when the change comes from within your heart…everything else just so miraculously falls into place. And vision…ahhh…thats really and truly the magic word….With vision and a right vision at that, we can conquer mountains 🙂
Thank you for your beautiful thoughts on this Wilma 🙂 Always a pleasure.
      Lots of love ..

    1. Hi Nothingprofound!
I love that Tolstoy quote! Changing our-self is mostly the last thing we think about…but in reality it should be the first and only thing we should be thinking about.
Thank you for sharing your lovely thoughts 🙂

  9. Hi Zeenat

Oh this picture is so precious, I just love it and the message is so perfectly true.

This is where I got to the point too, that I live out Ghandi’s message…”be the change that you want to see in the world”

It is not about what change needs to happen externally in any way, but internally within me – this is truly where all great change begins.

    1. HI Evita,
I so so agree with you…and Gandhi was a wise man…his words almost always touch your soul. I love how you said “It is not about what change needs to happen externally in any way, but internally within me – this is truly where all great change begins.” Now thats profound Evita. I love how youre so beautifully able to capture the true essence of what this thought is all about.
Thank you so much fro sharing your beautiful thoughts here 🙂

  10. Beautifully stated Zeenat! Indeed positive change/peace/healing/compassion/kindness all begin by looking within and creating these things in our own hearts first and then it all flows outward with grace and on and on the goodness shines love and light to people we may never even meet.

    gentle steps,
    Laura

    1. Hi Kaushik,
I love that quote by Gandhi…wise words from a wise man indeed.
Glad you love the picture….took me so long to find something that just fit perfectly with the quote 🙂
Thank you fro your wonderful comment:)

  11. Wow, very wise words you got there Zeenat. Very truthful indeed, the only one who you can consciously control is yourself. You can never change someone else without their conscious decision to change their-selves according to you first.

Therefore the only way is the improve your lifestyle and inspire others’ decision to improve theirs’ as well.

Very well done and very inspirational already. 🙂 You’ve certainly done a good job on that. 🙂

    Steven

    1. Hi Steven,
You have got the point I was trying to make beautifully….:) No wonder i call you oH Philosophical one 😉
Thank you fro your beautiful thoughts on this and your lovely compliments 🙂

  12. Hi Zeenat,

That is so true. By changing ourselves, we touch those around us, who in turn touch more. Like a ripple in a pond our positive energy expands to reach many.

Thank you for all you do!

Have a very Merry Christmas and a joyous Happy 2010!

    1. HI Barbara,
The ripple effect is exactly what i was thinking about when i wrote this…:) Talk about like minds 🙂
Thank you for your beautiful thoughts…and Seasons greetings to you too 🙂

  13. Zeenat,

I absolutely believe we are all connected so yes, a positive change on your side produces positive results everywhere.

Science has shown us that positive and negative thoughts have energy, although not in the same ratios. A single positive thought cancels out thousands of negative ones.

    George

  14. Wonderful thoughts!! You have given the only possible way to change the world in to positive. If we change ourself first, then we can change our town, nation, world…If the whole world will change? , it’s so happy even it is an imagination….

    1. Hi Web Design Services!
I am so glad you liked this thought….Yes, just imagining a world full of positivity brings about so much joy 🙂
Thank you fro your lovely comment here 🙂

Dear Sweet Z, Look at all the lovely people here. And why? Because you touch ALL of our lives with your unbridled love. You are definitely changing the world. And all of us are part of your online family, even part of your soul family. I see you as my soul sister and there is no better way to express it than that.

WOW! Just you being in the world LITERALLY changes my life, makes my days and weeks more gentle, more loving, more compassionate, more forgiving, more peaceful. Your affect reaches far and your love is SO HUGE that it spreads out the like rays of light and touches all those who come in contact with it (with YOU).

I tell you this with deepest sincerity and a heart filled with love for you and all that you do and give. We are all so blessed to have you on the planet. Thank you my dear kind kind friend. Your generous heart is a most amazing thing to behold. Much love, Robin

  16. Great piece of inspiration Zeenat 🙂 Indeed, the only thing we can change is our own being. And through this change, the “outer” world will be changed too.

Thank you for this powerful reminder 🙂

Beautifully written Zeenat. I too have felt this way my whole life. Too often we feel this and keep it in. It is in the sharing it that will make the profound impact. In sharing and living positivity and recognizing it in others, we will for sure make the changes needed in this world. I applaud everyone who comments on this blog. It fills me with joy and with hope that our children will see a bright, positive, healthy future! Keep being the change and continue to “Pay it Forward”. Peace, love, health AND positivity in 2012!!
