Love, Kindness and Happiness

Love is splendorous. This feeling of a warm and deep attachment leading to enthusiasm, devotion and admiration continues to exist and grow between many varied personal relationships e.g. Man and God, Parents and Children, Brothers and Sisters, Husband and wife, Teachers and Pupils, Friends both men and women and amongst many other bonds that we human beings develop and nurture of our own free will, in our life’s journey from the earlier days of childhood to the later evenings of old age.

It is said that “love begins at the beginning and goes beyond the end”. Love is ever giving and can be described in many many ways :-

  • A warm tender feeling,
  • A deep affection,
  • An overwhelming fondness.
  • A passionate attachment,
  • A profound emotional regard.
  • An intensely personal relationship.

Love stands much above endearment, infatuation, attraction or enchantment, need and desire…which can wear off after a certain span of time or change of environment. Love is a many sided sacrifice ; It means Thoughtfulness for the one you love. It means, putting their good before self gratification. Love is an impulse, no doubt!!!…but true love is an impulse wisely directed and has to stand the test of time.

To be kind is to show and express gestures of good will, combining sympathy, forbearance, graciousness and humanism. Kindness is a microwave that heats, thaws, heals and mends in many simple ways and manners i.e. a soothing touch; a gentle word, a warm smile, a loving look, a soft expression, a show of genuine concern, giving a helping hand, offering of support and encouragement, and sharing of feelings.

Love and Kindness open the most impossible gates. In the pursuit of happiness both love and kindness are vital inputs, as they symbolize sharing, caring and giving of your self and add to its glow. If love is a feeling that is experienced and kindness that is felt, then Happiness is a feeling that radiates from within the heart.

Happiness is a state of mind and comes from counting our blessings and being grateful for what The Maker has given us and being content with what we are able to gain and gather because of our own dedicated and determined endeavors.

Pour some water into a glass ad ask yourself the classic question -“Whether the glass is half full or half empty?” It depends how your mind reacts, because it is, in fact, only a different perspective of the same thing.

Unhappy is the man who has not loved and he is miserable who has not been touched by kindness. To grasp fully the feelings of Love, Kindness and Happiness You must catch all the murmurs of your heart, which the beholders, your admirers or detractors , can never hope to hear. These murmurs are faint. You have to hold them very close to the minds ear to capture them. Such a total state may be expressed as –

“A day of such serene feelings spent, Is worth an age of splendid discontent”~James Montgomery~

Have you fully grasped the feelings of Love, Kindness and Happiness? Have you caught all the murmurs of your heart?

You know…where there is unconditional love there will be kindness and happiness…..but the same goes for the other two aspects as well. All the three have to go hand in hand. One is incomplete without the other two.

And may I please sing part of a song to you? Thanks!!

Love is a many splendored thing
It’s the April rose that only grows
    in the early spring

    1. Oh Sweet and loving Jannie,
Your voice is echoing in my soul…thank you frot hat worderful song..and am so so happy to read about your LOVE blessings. May your new year be filled with a lot more love….:)

  8. Zeenat,
Love, kindness, and happiness…three very beautiful words. And reading this here today, I’m touched as I think about these words in my life – both in what I give and what I receive. And I really believe that the more I give of these, they just come back to me tenfold. In such amazing ways! Zeenat, you embody these, in every thing I have witnessed. Your soul is beautiful and filled with love, kindness, and happiness. I am blessed to know you, sweet friend…

    1. Hi Lance,
Youre such an inspiration yourself…cause to me you embody these three words so well too ๐Ÿ™‚
Youre right you know..the more you give the more you receive…ten fold…amazing huh…:)
Am blessed to know you too ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi George,
Thank you for your beautiful thoughts which i heard out of Lance’s comment…Wow…2 people echoing such awesome words…me is touched ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you!

  9. Hi Zeenat,

Love is the most powerful force in the Universe! And you exemplify it beautifully!

As for the glass being half full or half empty, I make the joke that the glass is overflowing. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a blessed New Year! I am grateful that our paths have crossed. Keep smiling and shining bright! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. HI Nadia,
The glass overflowing …now thats an awesome analogy..especially for me cause i am always accused of being an eternal optimist ๐Ÿ™‚
Glad you liked this post ๐Ÿ™‚
You have an awesome 2010 too…..Lets both smile away to the future ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Hi Zeenat. You explained love in a very profound way. I think love, kindness, and happiness all interrelate to each other on some level. If you can spread one of the three around, usually the other two will just come along for the ride. Thanks for sharing this and I hope the year of 2010 will bring much love to your awesome blog. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Hulbert,
Youre right you know….when we have 2 the third one usually comes along. But when you dont even realize it…and act ignorantly…then we are in trouble…right !
I suppose being aware of all three helps create greatness….love, kindness and happiness….
Thank you for sharing your wonderful thoughts ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Hi Z!
Those three words? That’s what I think of when I think of you! You write about them so beautifully because they are all a part of who you are!

Love IS everything – in fact it IS us, I really believe that, old Hippie that I am, haha! If we could “get that” and really believe it, we’d love ourselves, which would mean we could give more love to others and be loved – ooops, now where did all those “problems” come from? Oh yeah. We forgot. We are love.

I’m with Nadia – my glass overflows as well!

    Namaste, my lovely friend!

    1. Darling Suzen,
We are both hippies..and youre older means wiser for sure…good for me..i get all your wisdom ๐Ÿ˜‰
Nadia really nailed it with that glass overflows analogy….the eternal optimist me loved that analogy so so much.
What a bunch of awesome gals we are..with our glasses overflowing….lets spread that love kindness and happiness….

  12. Hi Zeenat!
Love is this Earth we inhabit, love is loving ourselves, the space we occupy, and all those around us. I feel that we are one living organism, us as a people, this planet and this climate. The more love we show ourselves, this planet, and the people on it, the more love will overcome!

Beautiful post, Zeenat. Your words are beautiful.
Welcome to 2010 and I’m really looking forward to seeing you more in my world.

    1. Hi Lori,
Thats so beautiful..the way you describe love….being everywhere..The more we give and spread..the more will certainly come back!
Glad you liked this post Lori…and you JBN world should beware …I am gonna be a regular there in 2010 for sure ๐Ÿ˜‰
      xoxo ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. These are perhaps my 3 favorite words in the English language….along with its sister word–compassion. The Buddhist practice of lovingkindness meditation embraces all of these and more and has absolutely changed my life. One of my deepest desires for all of us is to be KIND to one another. When we are, everything falls into place….everything. Thank you for this lovely invitation, Zeenat. You are a wayshower. May your New Year be blessed and overflowing with love and its many sisters….

    1. Hi Jan,
Compassion….ahh…now thats a word I could write pages about..and talk for hours about too. Its just so overwhelming…..when all we do comes form loving kindness….infact thats exactly what i wrote in my “For Your Help” page for this blog. Talk about minds in sync….cause i wrote that page when i was setting up this blog ๐Ÿ™‚
Youre so right….with loving kindness….everything else just so automatically and naturally falls into place.
Thank you fro your beautiful beautiful thoughts on this ๐Ÿ™‚ Youre always so perfect with your words….It helps me immensely.
      Much love…

    1. Hi Lakshmi,
      You have a rocking 2010 too ๐Ÿ™‚
I am glad you are enjoying the articles here….hoping to write lots lots more…Your support means the world ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you !

  14. My beautiful friend, that quote you shared at the start of this post was incredible. I just sent it on to someone I love. Everything you said of love is so true, and indeed, kindness and love can open up even the most impossible looking of gates.
I’ve seen it in my own life.

Happy new year, and lots and lots of love to you!

    1. HI My Joyful Angel,
I love that quote too….just so unconditional isnt it..I am glad you sent it across to the one you love…the more love we give and share..the more this world will heal…and we with it.
New Year Blessings to you too!
Lots of love to you… ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. Z.
I love how you relate kindness to a microwave. I’m going to share that with my teenage grandchildren! Not that they aren’t kind however this will encourage them to be even kinder.

And love moves mountains. I agree with Lori the more love we share, the more the world will be filled with love.

And Mother Teresa says it all begins at home. It can’t get much simpler can it? I’m so happy to have met you this year and look forward to see where 2010 takes us!

    1. Hi Tess,
The microwave just popped up in my head while writing this..its amazing how it just fit it ๐Ÿ™‚ Youre right…teenagers and kids would really be able to relate to that analogy. Loving and giving…is al we need in todays world to truly heal it. Mother Teresa is someone I have admired for a very very long time…..her simplistic yet miraculous approach to life is what gets to me.
I am so happy to have met you too Tess. You make my world somehow happier ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Hey!
I just thought of something else. Because I believe it all begins at home I’m going to think “kindness” each time I use my microwave! In fact each time I’m waiting for something to thaw I’ll plot by kindness for the hour, day etc.

Then ( I work at home) but what if everyone did the same with the microwave at work? What if everyone plotted kindness while warming lunch, snacks or coffee? Yeahhhh!

    1. Now thats an awesome thought..and why dont you write about it on your blog….that way everyone can join in the Microwave kindness loving fun…..What a fun way to think of kindness…..You have got to write about this…..I am sure i am gonna write a post int he near future about this for sure…maybe a sunday thought… written by Tess ๐Ÿ™‚
Love this idea so much….only you my bold and beautiful Tess could come up with it.. ๐Ÿ™‚
      Much Love…:)

Dearest Z, Whether you know it or not, you have written about YOU here. This post is just who you ARE. It’s how YOU moved through the world. So what better person to write about love than YOU. This is very moving and uplifting.

I feel you give a powerful message when you write:

“Happiness is a state of mind and comes from counting our blessings and being grateful for what The Maker has given us and being content with what we are able to gain and gather because of our own dedicated and determined endeavors.”

WOW!! That is a quote for the books. A keeper. Great writing and for me it says it all. I’ve found gratitude to be the MOST healing and positive way to love myself, others and all of Creation. I’ve found in gratitude that we create more of what we are grateful for and we also draw that to us and surround ourselves with what we are consciously genuinely grateful for.

Aaah Z, I just breathe when I come here. So positive and healing. What a soul you are. What life you must have lived to reach this point of great Love. Thank you for being my dear soul sister friend. For that I am deeply grateful. Truly in more ways than words could express. Much Love, Robin

    1. Darling Robin,
You always overwhelm me with your beautiful and full of love comments. Infact everytime i read something from you i go Aaah…..cause the sense of love and calm that i get form you is just WOW….
I am so glad you liked this post…your opinion means the world to me ..:)
You truly are my Soul Sister…and believe me when i tell you this…the pleasure and honor is all mine ….Thank you.
      Much Love,

Thank you so much for your lovely and encouraging words. I truly appreciate them ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. Beautiful post Zeenat!
Love, expansive, unconditional, flowing, embracing, releasing, sighing, soaring, tender, precious, generous Love…it is the source of all there is was will be…the source…beginning and end…beginning again.

    Happy New Year!

    1. Oh Laura, you have defined love with such wonderful words…makes my heart smile. Thank you for being here and spreading your love.
Happy new year to you too lovely heart ๐Ÿ™‚

  20. Those who struggle with relationships rarely realize that love is selfless and unconditional. Few truly understand that unconditional means not reacting to what others do or say. Being true to yourself means you treat someone the same no matter how badly they behave.

Those who experience the unconditional love of our creator find it easier to express unconditional love to others.

  22. Zeenat,

In every moment of our lives, we can be at peace through love.

Yet, World Peace seems so far away. In an effort to bring us closer to World Peace, a new, grass roots movement is beginning. It can be summed up in the phrase: “Road-Peace is a step toward World Peace.”

Whether we are cycling, driving or walking, each time we are in traffic, we can lovingly, patiently, thoughtfully and kindly interact in ways that create friendlier and safer traffic experiences for us all. As the examples we set are eventually followed by others, the process will begin to accelerate. “Road-Peace’ and “World Peace” will be closer, as people make loving kindness a good habit that will spread to all other areas of our lives.

Will you help spread the word?

With love for all, Earl Shoop
