Believe in yourself….

“You alone have the power to get over your fears, your insecurities, your addictions, your negativity. People can help, people can guide, but the ultimate action and change has to come from you alone.
You just need to start believing in yourself and the untapped power that exists in you right NOW!” ~Z

My Hubby is a huge Rocky Balboa Fan. And the video below is a short segment from that movie. Hubby sees this video to motivate himself and inspire himself whenever he is about to do something important eg. meet an intimidating person, go for an important interview etc. He seems to get so positively charged up after seeing this video its amazing.
I love the message of this video too Believe in Yourself”…and fits perfectly with this weekends message.

May this video and the words here be a source of inspiration to you too πŸ™‚

  1. Hey Zeenat,

Nothing drives me like music does. I listen to this song from the movie “Iqbal” called aashayein before any sort of exam or challenging assignment that i undertake. Really inspires me big time.

Yes you are right, you can only guide someone buts its ultimately upto that person to do believe in himself and go for it. As they say, you can always take the horse to the water, but cant force it drink.

Nice read as usual and thanks to this I am listening to aashayein right now after quite along time!!

    Cheers!
    Tavish

  2. How true is this, thanks for sharing and asking. Yes we all have a choice about how we move forward . So believing in “me ” is central to success.

I am findnig that the more I get in touch with my spirit/ meditate etc the more peace I feel withing and the more I believe in me

  3. Hi Zeenat,
The Rocky Balboa speech IS inspiring – in that we can listen to our hearts…and no matter what happens, if we keep believing and keep fighting for that belief – it IS possible. What a great thought!!

One I really love: The Randy Pausch “Last Lecture”. So moving to just listen to this man talk, and let his words touch my soul….

  4. When I have a daunting task ahead of me, I start calling up all my past successes, all the times I nailed it, did something right. Not only do I remember them, I remember the tremendous feelings of pride and joy and achievement I felt in those moments … and then I take those feelings with me into the new challenge in front of me. I enter a conqueror!

    1. HI Chania Girl(i like to call you this..its so hip πŸ˜‰ ),
Your past success formula is awesome! I do try that sometimes…but seriously when I need a quick fix..I can depend on my hubby to motivate&inspire me πŸ™‚ He has a stash of videos lectures etc….
Thank you fro sharing your winning success formula here.
      Much Love~

  5. Whoa! It’s great to have inspirational and motivational material at my fingertips. Like your husband, I’m going to store this one on my Evernote app and review it when needed. It’s all about handling adversity with resilience!

    1. HI Steve,
OK steve…now youve got me all inqusitve about this evernote app..hmm…I am usually a simple gal…with very few gizmos and gadgets(my simple life rule)….but I am gonna google this and see what I find. You know I am already an inspiration junkie..who knows int he future i might become and evernote inspiration junkie too πŸ˜‰
Thank you for your sharing your wonderful wisdom here.

  6. Oh Zeenat, yes it is only me that can be responsible for my life. THAT took me some doing to get that. When I do nothing, I do not get anything, when I not make my life happen, my life won’t happen. I too needed to hear those words over and over again and I do not use a movie like your husband but I read passages from a favorite book. The words encourage me to go for it AND that in the creation of God there is no harm, there is only good and love. Thus when I am scared I cling to my book, read the words and then go and do it with trust that all will work out.
I also surround myself with people who talk positively and encourage me, THAT also helps a lot.
Like I love to hang around here and listen to all the positive talk, we need to encourage each other to believe in ourselves. So thank you, my dear friend, you encourage me, love Wilma

    1. HI WIlma,
Youre so right….we all indeed need to be there for each other..and motivate and inspire each other. What better way to motivate than to lead by example..like you are doing πŸ™‚
I have a few quotes I read too…that just help me pick myself up in those daunting times.
Thank you fro sharing your beautiful thoughts here Wilma πŸ™‚
      Much Love to you~

  7. Oh gosh, that was a little intense but so true. “It’s up to you” is the name of one of my favorite books, which so resonates with what you and the video are saying here. Thanks so much for the reminder!

    1. HI Sandra,
It is intense …but somehow…sometimes we all need a little jolt to get us out of that negative thoughts pattern right.
And that book…who is the writer? I would certainly love to read it…the title itself is so interesting.
Thank you for sharing you beautiful thoughts here Sandra.
      Much love~

  8. Hi Z! Sorry I’m behind with comments – busy with traveling back and forth to the lake house and redecorating up there (painting closets and woodwork and walls is not my idea of fun but it’s starting to look good!) As for this post, keeping ourselves motivated and in a “can do” state of mind can be dicey at times but I’m such a can do kind of person that this “I can do this” attitude goes a long way and is a fantastic mind set. Today I’m going to re-cover a chaise lounge – never have done this but I won’t let that stop me. I believe I can do it. How it will turn out? We’ll see. But it WILL be done!
    hugs
    suZen

    1. HI Suzen,
It will be done alright!!! See now if i have you here and your words…I think I am motivated already πŸ™‚ And no problems with being away from commenting….life just keeps up occupied..and that in itself is a good thing. You get to share your infectious joy and energy with the world…:) Lucky Lucky world…that chaise lounge is gonna be marvelous for sure.
Thank you SuZen for always being such a lovely motivator.
      Much Love~

  9. Hello Zeenat,
Thanks for yet again an inspiring post that makes me think. I’m responsible for my own consciousness, healing, personal growth and for what I send out into this world. I’m like Chania girl when I’m faced with a new challenge I recall my past successes. I am my own cheerleader and best friend so I tap into that positivity and energize myself for the step forward by using creative visualization. I focus on the vision of reaching the end goal and celebrating it over and over again and act as it the success has already taken place.

    1. HI TT,
I love how you say you are your own cheer leader, your own best friend. I have come to accept that attitude and this truth too. And creative visualisation is just sucha powerful tool…I use it so often..its become second nature to me now. I come to a state of being where I am so totally convinced that the act has already positively happened…and successfully. I literally bask in my glory so to say πŸ˜‰
Your wisdom..in both fields…blogging and personal development….make me feel so lucky to have connected with you. I learn so much from you…Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom here.
      Much Love~

  10. Megan "JoyGirl!" Bord

Ohhh, that’s a good movie and has a GREAT theme song!

Sometimes when I need motivation or inspiration, I go within and remember that I’m God incarnate. Then I remember that we’re all ONE. When I remind myself of our interconnectedness, things feel easier — and I recognize that whatever I think and feel is projected outward and then mirrored back to me.

What a great discussion topic, though! Awesome, as usual, Beautiful Zeenat!

    1. HI My Joyful Angel,
The interconnectedness of us all…simply so instantly brings feelings of warmth…
And within us is this depth..this divine energy that can surmount all odds…with its power…and all this right here inside…amazing!
Thank you my dearest, for stopping by and sharing your gorgeous wisdom.
      Much Love to you~

  11. Hi Zeenat .. We have to believe in ourselves .. I clear my head, prepare myself as best I can, make notes if necessary and confirm what I’ve done – then I won’t be bitten in the bottom afterwards and surprised??!! Be prepared … that’s my motto … & you can have any number of possibilities, but at least when one happens – you can deal with it and move on .. in comfort, because it’s not a surprise: & you’ll have worked out alternative paths … Have a good week – Hilary

    1. Hi Hilary,
“being prepared for anything”…now thats really something we all need to do! This is such a wonderful way to keep yourself from throwing a fit when something unexpectedly bad happens.
Thank you for sharing you lovely wisdom here πŸ™‚
      Much love~

  12. Hey Zeenat,

Your Hubby has an interesting way for motivation. πŸ™‚

I prefer to motivate myself so that I do anything to get started. For example, if I need to write a new blog post, and I feel lazy, I just get started to write something, anything. It is important to force myself to any action, as fast as I can, and then make adjustments along the way.

    1. HI Marko,
I like your way to motivate yourself πŸ™‚ You know more often its the starting or getting started thats the hardest…but once you start…then it just flows..right πŸ™‚
Thank you fro sharing your wisdom here.
      Much love~

  13. Hi Zeenat. I’m grateful that motivation has always been in abundance in my life. I had hard working role models to follow when I was growing up. I feel blessed to have adopted those ethics. Peace, Simon

  14. I have long heard about how Rocky movies can be great inspirations to many. πŸ™‚ I like this clip a lot too. For me, I enjoy listening to inspirational songs to keep my spirit pumped up all times, while praying for wisdom. Try to recall on the blessings in the past to encourage myself how success is to be built with faith and perseverance. Appreciate you sharing the material with us.

  15. Hi Zeenat,

after you posted this article, I wrote down part of that speech, printed it and put it on the inside of the door of my flat, along with a screenshot of Rocky’s face. Captured to most emotional moment πŸ˜‰

Today I removed it because I don’t have the feeling any more that this world is a “mean and nasty place” πŸ™‚ Anyway, for three weeks each time leaving my flat Rocky was shouting at me: “Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth.”, HAHA.

Hello Zeenat. A few days ago I posted a comment because I liked the video and it motivated me to write down part of Rocky’s speech. My comment was about putting part of Rock’y speech on my flat’s door. Now I was keen to see if did reply and what you thought about it. There comment seems to be gone 😦 Why? Is there a technical problem? Was it deleted somehow maybe because there was an URL included? It must have been comment no 31.

    1. HI Uli,
I’m so sorry I didnt reply to that comment..I have been offline for a while..and only just logged in. Am getting to all the comments ASAP πŸ™‚ Stay tuned. And yes, thank you for sharing your thoughts here πŸ™‚ Much Love~

  17. Rocky balboa is a character worth the praise – champ against all odds.
I personally watch the part of the movie when Rocky runs and reaches the stairs – something which always helped me bounce back – dunno why – but it does the trick for me πŸ™‚

Your blog is wonderful – Keep sharing πŸ™‚
