“Hold the vision, trust the process.”
As the year is coming to an end and a new year is around the horizon, most conversations have been revolving around How to start fresh in the coming year. Honestly, in my own life too, major changes happened in the last year and that is why as the year ends, my mind is on how to begin fresh in the next year too.
A feeling of, “…is this really my whole life?” is where it all began. Ironically this happened in the beginning of 2023, which led to my insides collapsing. It felt like everything around me wasn’t making any sense. Actually, myself most of all. I went from feeling apathetic to experiencing what felt like every emotion within a day, every day.
This has been an eye-opening journey–one that I’m still on–but I’ve gained a lot of clarity, by getting very honest with myself, and have expanded my ability to trust and surrender. It’s those times in life when we have no other choice but to let go that can be some of the most powerful, life-changing experiences.
Today, I’m sharing some things I’ve learned during this time that helped me to get clear within myself in order to start over with a fresh mindset and a more positive way of being in my life.
Why starting fresh can feel hard?
To start something over, to start something fresh can feel very overwhelming at first, usually because we don’t have a clear direction. In order to even get to this place of needing or wanting to start fresh, typically it’s because you’ve been seemingly going off track for a while before that.
So many life experiences can bring on a starting fresh point in life: financial hardships, Health scares, divorce, job loss, the midlife metamorphosis, the death of a loved one, etc.
These experiences need us to move through them before we’re able to really clarify how we want to start fresh, and that we’re even desiring of starting over. It’s like you’ve got to walk through the pain of major life events in order to receive the desire and clarity needed to start fresh.
Processing the fear and grief we feel during this time is imperative before we are truly ready to start fresh in life. Sometimes you already know what you want moving forward, but there might be fear going there, or that need to grieve and let go of how things have been.
Allow yourself the grace, the space and the time to process these emotions in order to find the clarity you seek. Once you’ve got clarity, that’s when the magical starting fresh begins. It’s then all a future full of possibilities….
3 Positive Steps to Begin Fresh in 2024
When you have found that space of clarity, or at least an openness to life, you get to start a whole new adventure. The world is then yours for the taking(and making).
Let me warn you, when you begin this fresh journey, it will not always feel open and flowy, but thats normal. Self-doubt, fear, uncertainty will come up at times, but you’re going to keep reminding yourself of this one simple positive affirmation:
I am creating my own reality, and it’s now coming together in the most easeful of ways.
A new life starts when you feel the burning desire to make a change. In this way, you can even use your fear to help you clarify what you do want, instead of all that was holding you back.
When you feel good about your desire for a new future and new change, your energy moves happily and quickly towards making that new fresh reality. On the other hand, if you are riddled with fear and doubt, you will still move forward, but it will be slower and more difficult.
When your energy begins to move forward and you’re open to life, you get to witness how life unfolds a new reality before you in the most magical of ways.
1. Clarity
Getting clarity is one of the most creative and fun steps when starting fresh, because you’re getting to put your ideas and plans out to the Divine. For me writing where I’ve been in order to first get clarity on what I no longer want helps immensely. You’re clearing the fog of the past and moving forward with fresh and clear ideas.
Once I identify what I don’t want to experience anymore, I choose the opposite of that:
Here are a few examples of how you can do that:
Thoughts of lack of money or abundance? Opposite-> I want ___ amount every month.
Thoughts of Loneliness? Opposite-> I want to be surrounded by love.
Thoughts of no purpose? Opposite->I want unlimited beautiful, fulfilling experiences.
Feeling Dis-eased? Opposite-> I want to be healthy, at ease and at peace as I heal.
How do you want to feel? What do you want from this fresh start? What’s the ideal version of your life if you have no limitations? Creating that vision is the most fun and satisfying process.
2. Put it on paper
After you get a vision in your mind or a feeling in your soul of how you’d like your new life to be, put it on paper. Create a vision journal. This is an extremely powerful step in creating this new life. I’ve always kept a vision journal for this very reason.
Honestly, even if it’s just once that you write it down, it sets some sort of tone into action energetically. So many times, I’ve gone through my old journals only to realize that what I had once written there is now already my reality.
From working on my website’s vision(which I’m fine tuning daily!), to my health(The Peri-menopause stage which I’m understanding and handling daily), to my life just now in the broad sense, and so many more things have manifested after simply holding the vision and writing it down in my journal.
Start by wrting and framing it like this-> “I am so happy and grateful now that____” ->fill it in with how your new life looks as if it’s already happened.
3. Look for the positive
“If all you did in life was look for things to appreciate, your life would be a never-ending unfolding of beautiful experiences.” ~ Abraham Hicks
Human beings by default always notice the things that are NOT working for them, than the things that actually are. Eg. the traffic is horrible, this person is rude, the boss is painful, the weather is dismal etc.
Now imagine the opposite. Think if you went through your day looking only for the positive things. The good stuff. The things that bring you joy. How warm your bed feels when you wake up, how wonderful coffee tastes, how the sun shines and the birds chirp, the beautiful face of your loved ones as soon as you wake up.
We live in a beautiful wonderful world, should we choose to look at it through those eyes! Not only will these things light your heart, but they will create the magnetic pull of bringing more positive things to you.
Noticing the positive and staying in that mindset is just as powerful as writing it down and meditating when it comes to creating your fresh new life. Just look for things to appreciate and your life will start over in a whole new way.
In conclusion
As you progress further in your new fresh life, you will need to let go of a lot of stuff that is holding you down. Don’t attach to anything or anyone. Keep trusting that if something isn’t in your life anymore, it’s because it wasn’t a match to what you are calling in with your ideal vision.
Starting a fresh life is an opportunity to start from scratch. Like a claen slate. You can fill it in with whatever you like.
With every passing day, we are understanding ourselves in deeper ways, which means it gets even more fulfilling when we decide we’re ready to start over fresh.
Its never ever too late to start fresh. Never think that your age or social status or life in general is too difficult to start fresh. Yes, it can seem scary and yes you are taking a chance on life…but when you let go and focus on what feels good (how you want things to feel/be), reality will, without a doubt, begin to rearrange itself in order to accommodate you.
Positive energy is powerful, so when you intentionally radiate positive energy on a daily basis, this is the foundation of all miracles. And what better miracle to focus on that a gorgeous, lovely and positive 2024, full of fresh new energy for you to create your vision with.
