7 Positive Tips to BE Yourself and BE Beautiful too!

7 Positive Tips to BE Yourself and BE Beautiful too!“Be yourself. Above all, let who you are, what you are, what you believe shine through every sentence you write, every piece you finish.” ~ John Jakes

Being yourself isnt a choice. Its a way of life. Period.

Being you is not always the easiest thing to be. Believe me I have had a hard time in the past just being me until I found out who I was.

Being YOU means to celebrate your individuality – learning to express yourself and be happy with who you are. For some  it’s learning to love yourself, for others, it’s not hiding who you are or changing things about you to fit in. I fall in both those categories.

I have become more ME in these past 4+ years of writing this blog than I could ever be. To mark a NEW Phase in my little heaven Positive Provocations and in my own inner growth, I have completely changed the look and feel of Positive Provocations. If you are reading this in your rss reader or in your email, click here to see the whole new look and tell me what you think.

Below I share with you 7 simple tips to BE Yourself and BE Beautiful too! All tried and tested on yours truly 🙂

7 Tips to BE Yourself and BE Beautiful

1} Redefine yourself:
Your primary goal should be to know, understand and accept yourself. Take out time to contemplate on your life’s choices. Try to think about what kind of things you would or wouldn’t like to do, and act accordingly; finding out through trial and error helps more than you know. Work on accepting mistakes and choices you’ve made; they’re done and in the past, so there is no use crying over spilled milk.

2} Bid farewell to others perceptions:
It’s impossible to be yourself when you’re caught up in wondering “Do they like me? Does she think I’m fat? Do they think I’m smart?” To be yourself, you’ve got to let go of these concerns and just let your behavior flow. What you think and know of yourself is important not what others think of you. Don’t wear different masks to please different people….you will ultimately lose yourself. Be you, be authentic without being rude and self-indulgent.

3} Simply BE Honest and Open:
We’re all imperfect, evolving, learning human beings. If there are aspects of yourself you are uncomfortable with— and you feel that you have to hide those parts of you, physically or emotionally — then you have to come to terms with that and learn to convert your so-called flaws into positive quirks. Be honest with yourself, but don’t beat yourself up; apply this philosophy to others, as well. There is a difference between being critical and being honest; learn to watch the way you say things to yourself and others when being honest.

4} Calm down and laugh a bit:
Stop worrying about the worst, especially in social situations. So what if you fall flat on your face? Or have candy stuck on your hair? Learn to laugh at yourself both when it happens and afterwards. Turn it into a fun story that you can share with friends & family. It makes you feel more at ease with yourself. My funny quirk: I can leterally finish bars and bars of chocolate in one go. If you want to buy me over just give me chocolate 😉 Relax, breathe and enjoy each experience as it comes. Life can be fun if we let it.

5} Develop your authentic self:
Develop and express your authenticity. Whether it’s your sense of style, or even your manner of speaking, if your preferred way of doing something strays from the rest of the crowd, then be proud of it. Follow your own style. The common thing a lot of people do is copy others actions because it seems like the better route to fit in, but really its the best way to lose yourself in the crowd.

6}Acceptance is key:
Accept that sometimes you are really fun to be with and sometimes you just might want to be left alone. Its ok. Accept what your heart tells and do that. People might raise eyebrows, but as long as you can say “Hey, that’s just me being ME” (without being obnoxious) and leave it at that, people will ultimately respect you for it, and you’ll respect yourself.

7}Begin to Believe in You:
When we constantly try to be like someone else, how can we be happy? Be yourself and show the world you’re proud of the way you are! You deserve to be your own best friend, so start trying to figure out how you can do that. If you had to spend the day with yourself, which version of YOU would you spend it with? Work on this best version. Believe in this YOU and use that as your starting point. Lovingly accept yourself as you are now.

Being different, Being YOU is absolutely beautiful!

We are all born with unique DNA, unique finger-prints and unique faces. Why should our personality then be anything else?

“All the knowledge I possess everyone else can acquire, but my heart is all my own.”  ~Goethe

Listen to your heart. Its your best guide and confidant. Your heart is unique & one of a kind. It will help you sense how to be the best you at all times, no matter what. Just relax and let your heart do its job.

You alone have the power to get over your fears, your insecurities, your addictions, your negativity. People can help, people can guide, but the ultimate action and change has to come from you alone.

You just need to start believing in yourself and the untapped power that exists in you right NOW!

  1. Hi Zeenat, I like the new header and look, Great reminders on how important it is to find and be ourselves. I’ve been discovering more of who I am through my blogging too. I remain true to me by remembering what is most important to me and checking in with my body and heart when making choices. I also believe that following our joy helps us align with and be our truest self. Blessings, Brad

    1. Hi Brad,
So you too a discovering more of your true self while blogging/writing 🙂
And thank you for the compliment on the look of the blog. I wanted it to be more ME. I suppose my freakish addiction to pink has come through in the design 😉
      Love having you here.
      Much Love~

    1. Darling Swathi,
We all fall in the trap of doing things for others. It can be selfless to do things for others…but not at the cost of your own peace of mind and happiness. right?
So glad you liked the new look. My pinky obsession 😉
      Much Love~

    Hi Z!

I just completed being an meeting room operator for the ‘International Society For Heart Research’…lasted 5 days 🙂

We had a Nobel Prize winner there…guess there is a lot of knowledge possessed by this person 🙂

I always find it amazing how the attendees to this type of convention are all on the same page of knowledge (way beyond me molecular science).

What I do find that I have in common is 3} Simply BE Honest and Open:

Helps to set the first step so that all may flow with a learning positive purpose.

I found that besides being a bunch geniuses these *Humans* were pretty darn nice 🙂

…yes I really love the quote and this post

P.S. Next week 130 thousand will be attending ‘Comic-con’ here…,now that will be an eye-opener 🙂

  3. I love the new look…very uplifting. Wonderful tips on being oneself. As I’ve gotten older, it has become much easier to be myself and be happy with the positives of me and work on changing the negatives of me. The important thing is that I decide for myself what those positives and negatives are. I have to look to no one but God to “validate” me.

Thank you for this wonderful blog, Zeenat.

  4. The new look is pretty, Zeenat! I noticed when I visited earlier! And a beautiful post to go with it! I like your point about acceptance being key! Hugs!

  5. Zeenat – The new look is you – joyful, fun, inclusive and much more (my brain isn’t coming up with the right words). Several good points but this one phrase should be read and taped to every woman’s computer or bathroom mirror-“Being yourself isnt a choice. Its a way of life. Period.” Much love-
