“The marvelous richness of human experience would lose something of rewarding joy if there were no limitations to overcome. The hilltop hour would not be half so wonderful if there were no dark valleys to traverse.”
~Helen Keller~
Your life, the one you’re living right NOW, has been and will be full of experiences. Experiences that will sometimes be fun, sometimes sad, sometimes happy…a range of emotions will be attached to any one experience. And there is a lesson to be learned from each and every experience as well.
Whenever you think of your past experiences, you will notice you tend to forget so many details, the details you want to remember. Thats because we are not living each moment wholeheartedly.
A Simple way to Positively Experience Life
The heart and mind are not very good at multi-tasking….Experience every moment, one at a time, simply by being in that moment wholeheartedly, with all your five senses deep within that very experience…and see how when you look back to that experience, you will remember every little detail like a movie playing in your head.
How rich you are doesn’t depend on the depth of your pocket, it depends on the depth of your experiences, which are like minute globules of warm chocolate, sitting inside of you, and waiting for you to taste their smooth joyful richness whenever YOU want.
What experiences of this past year do you want to relive? Have you been positively experiencing every moment with all your five senses? Share your thoughts in the comments below. You know I would love to hear from you 🙂

Thanks Zeenat, I needed this reminder today. I’ve been letting the negative mind stories have too much air time! Brad

Hi Zeenat,
We all have to traverse dark valleys…each step taken in those gloomy alleys teach the profoundest lessons. You are so right Zeenat, we must experience each moment wholeheartedly in order to pick up those inputs that life offers. All of them cannot be positive but thinking transforms them into learning experiences.
I have always tried to absorb all the experiences with those senses you have mentioned, sometimes making myself a sentimental fool!! Thanks for looking at it from another angle….That of richness! Thanks for sharing it!
Balroop darling,
I have been known to wear my heart on my sleeve…and am happily the sentimental gal….cause I ‘feel’ way too much. I guess there are people who might misunderstand, but for the most part, people who live with heart ‘get’ me and my ways of living. When we live with heart, all life’s experiences are magnificent.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts here.
Much Love~
Hi Zeenat,
I just loved the advice you shared about experiencing each moment with all of our senses and then reflecting back on such experiences, in order to have a clearer recollection of what happened. This is such an authentic way to use of minds, compared to ego driven experiences and then thinking back on such events where all we experience are negative emotions such as anxiety, worry and insecurity.
Regarding experiences I could like to relive in the New Year, it is those where my work has involved directly helping others to improve their personal and professional lives, in coaching and mentoring contexts. For me, this is real living!
Thank you.

Hi Zeenat!
I watched the movie ‘Chocolat’ for the very first time the other night…you know the Juliette Binoche film.
Your message resonates…
What would I want to experience again from the past year?
God willing when my daughter comes back down again from college I want to experience another fantastic conversation that will leave me once again saying to myself… ‘ What a wonderful young mature adult’. God willing I will say the same about her younger sister also. Yes…the ‘five senses’ and being in the moment from when your children were being cuddled by you during their early years….and the ‘five senses’ and being in the moment when they come back from college. I will be going back out tonight on my second shift of work and will get home the early morning. I will be in the moment knowing that my hard earned money is helping to create a future for my girls.
Thank you Zeenat for the *richness* of this reminder…
Hi Zeenat, Thanks for the reminder. We do enjoy life to the fullest when we experience it with our five senses. I love this line: “…which are like minute globules of warm chocolate, sitting inside of you, and waiting for you to taste their smooth joyful richness whenever YOU want.” Beautiful!
Hi Zeenat – what a beautiful post. It’s so true all the greatest and most noble experiences we can imagine are simply awaiting our attention and awareness. We miss so much when we’re less than present. Great reminder.
