9 Positive Ways to put the Pizzazz Back into your Day

9 Positive Ways to put the Pizzazz Back into your Day

“With the past, I have nothing to do; nor with the future. I live now.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Does your daily routine feel like a boring trap you want to break away from? Then this article is for you…

On a daily basis i.e. every day we wake up, eat, go to work, eat, sleep, and do it all over again the next day. We find a system that makes life run smoothly and that adds to our productivity. And it works – for a little while atleast. But eventually we’re living a routine, ordinary, boring life. It’s the same stuff every day. How much fun can that be?! Before we know it, instead of being more motivated and inspired, the system traps us within an unchanging stale and not so productive rut. And believe me, its not a good place to be trapped in!

So, to prevent boredom, it’s important to shake things up every now and then.

Add some pizzazz into the day! Re-energize!

Of course, you can shake things up in a really big way if you want to…..but the little things work just as well to make life more meaningful. All it takes to put the pizzazz back into your routine is a little thinking out of the box. Below are five positive ways to get your juices flowing again and add some sparkling pizzazz back into your day.

9 Positive Ways to put the pizzazz back into your day

1}Cook up a NEW storm

“Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic.

People are always complaining that they don’t have enough time for cooking, let alone exploring new recipes. Cooking can become a form of creative expression rather than a chore. Don’t worry, even if you’re busy or not such a good cook, the act of cooking can get you out of your rut. Getting your hands on real food connects your spirit with real life. Cooking can inspire you and wake up your joy of being alive. You don’t have to be a Michelin chef or do anything fancy. For example try a tomato soup instead of a mushroom soup. Stepping out of your routine and trying new ways of cooking things helps you wake up your taste buds and your life.

2}Get Excited

“A few minutes ago every tree was excited, bowing to the roaring storm, waving, swirling, tossing their branches in glorious enthusiasm like worship. But though to the outer ear these trees are now silent, their songs never cease.” ~ John Muir

Excitement is something we set forth as a possibility, actively and silently. Then we look for ways to making it happen in every moment. Actively and silently DECIDE to re-ignite your excitement for life. I decide everyday to GET Excited and live my life to its fullest potential. On any day, however my day is going, my level of excitement never ceases. Thats the one thing all those who know me notice first about me….’She is so bubbly and chipper always!” My chipperness/excitement has been the reason for many funny antics which my little one and I laugh at all day. I can be a clown too 😉 ooppss I’m kind of one all too often 🙂

Excitement is infectious too! I’ve often noticed, my level of excitement has been the reason for many others getting up jumping all around with me 🙂 Yes, I do jump for joy way too much…psst I even have that skip in my step!!

3}Get your hands dirty in the Garden

“Anything which grows is always more beautiful to look at than anything which is built.”–Lin Yu Tang

Plant flowers or vegetables. Get those beautiful hands dirty and active in a soul nurturing task. Oh my! Why gardening of all things? Because the act of gardening energizes us, filling us with joy and hope. It gets us in nature and connected with life and noticing the constantly changing weather. When you tend a garden, it brings peace and solitude. Not to mention birds, butterflies, and the wind…oh the wind! Tending a garden may well be one of the best antidotes to a busy, routine life. My window requires a few new pots too….tomorrow is planting new pots day for me too 🙂

4}Just Consciously Breathe

“Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.” ~ Oprah Winfrey

Very simply breathing consciously has innumerable benefits. Your breath has the ability to lift your spirit and clear your mind of negative thoughts almost instantly. Deep breathing get the energy moving within you. And truly, breathing is the conscious choice you make to be alive, to be you. But you need to decide to just breathe consciously throughout the day. When you take deep breaths several times each hour those breaths will become deep, fulfilling, happy breaths, that invigorate your body and rid your body of accumulated heaviness.

5} Let Go of Thoughts by Meditating

“The highest possible stage in moral culture is when we recognize that we ought to control our thoughts.” ~ Charles Darwin

When we can learn to control our thoughts, we can control the experience and emotions of our life. Meditation is the best antidote to negativity. Its more than just relaxation; it is a change in consciousness, it is making a paradigm shift from the inside. We go from the limited perspective of our mind and discover happiness as an inner source. Making your mind quite is meditation enough. Just a few minutes of a quite mind can help tremendously in letting go of negative thoughts and adding pizzazz in your consciousness. You begin to think differently..and that believe me is FUN!

6}Just Write something, anything in your personal Journal

“The act of putting pen to paper encourages pause for thought, this in turn makes us think more deeply about life, which helps us regain our equilibrium.  ~Norbet Platt

No need to worry about being a prolific writer to keep a journal. Write in your journal because you want to write, not because you have to. Writing a journal helps ground you in the knowledge of who you really are. Journaling connects the mind with the spirit. When you write, you gradually open and learn the answers to Who am I? You rediscover that you too have unique thoughts, opinions, emotions, passions, convictions, and ideas. Its such a freeing experience. Do this everyday to make yourself and your mind *feel* amazing!

7} Make Yourself Think of 3 Positive Thoughts

“You’ve done it before and you can do it now. See the positive possibilities. Redirect the substantial energy of your frustration and turn it into positive, effective, unstoppable determination.”~ Ralph Marston

If you are feeling really miserable, try thinking of 3 good things that you have done. When we are low, our own mind can be our worst enemy and very self critical. Its essential to keep the balance especially during those down periods. Remember and remind yourself that for the various bad things we have done, we have also done some good things. Push yourself to remember them in your minds eye and feel the happiness in your heart. Its a sure shot way to turn those frowns into smiles.

8}Work on those Relationships

“Little kindness and courtesies are so important. In relationships, the little things are the big things.” – Stephen R. Covey

As time passes by, all long-term relationships grow and change. Your evolve. Your emotional needs, hobbies, interests and values evolve, and so do theirs. It becomes so easy to grow apart. Take a look at your closest relationships and find innovative ways to spruce things up. What would bring back the laughter, the easy joy, and connection? Could you take long walks together? Share an ice cream cone? Buy him or her little gifts? Maybe you could ask if they wanted to get involved with a personal project? Too often, we put our best selves out there to the world, but show up uninvolved or uninspired with those we love most. Today, show those closest to you (in actions) that you value your relationships with them more than any other relationship in your life.

9}1 2 3 Make ME over ~ Makeover yeah baby!

Whenever you’re feeling a bit “eh” rather than awesome, then maybe it’s time to shake up your closet. Sort through everything… shoes, clothes, socks, underwear, sweaters, all last years stuff and dump it all in big boxes to give away. Out with the old and boring In with the new and awesome! Let go of anything that no longer feels right. The logical mind WILL protest, but let it go. Give it to goodwill. I’m sure they would love to have your stuff. As for you, you’ll have room to breathe when only your favorite stuff remains. Then, GO shopping. If you can’t afford to buy a whole new collection of stuff, buy some essential happy pieces that feel good. psst….my secret lift me up is going shopping for just about anything small. I just need an excuse to get out and have some fun 😉

  1. Hi Zeenat, I agree with you. Small changes, small moments of joy make all the difference! I love that word – Pizzazz, it breathes a lot of positive energy. Thanks for sharing. Much love!

  2. HI Zeenat,

Such a really helpful guide. Thank you for posting this.

I definitely agree about the importance of positive thoughts. This has always been my struggle but I can see how much it makes a difference in my life when I dwell on the positive rather than to negative.

    Thanks for the encouragement!

    Luna

    1. Hi Luna,
We constantly need to make choice to think positive. Its a developed practice. With enough practice it can become natural and easy to stay in that positive space. I’ll send you positive vibes to make sure you stay in that positive space.
Thank you so much for your loving comment here.
      Much Love~

  3. I agree wholeheartedly about small changes. Trying to do too much all at once often falls flat, but small gradual change that builds momentum can give you some of that pizazz back. Great list – one thing I do when feeling flat is to go and walk barefoot on the grass. It’s great for your energy and helps you feel more connected to the earth.
