Rumi’s words have been a source of solace to my soul for a very long time. I grew up listening to my wise and philosophical dad quote Rumi on many occasions and then when I did actually grow up, I began to slowly understand the depth of his words. To this day, his words, his philosophy on all things love and life hits home for the heart centred Sufi girl in me.
All those who know me, know how much I LOVE “love”. And, when it comes to understanding the many layers of love…none other than Rumi’s words have the power to tug at the heart. In many a troubled times, his words have worked like a balm for my heart and soul.
Today I’d like to share with you some of my favourite quotes and poems by Rumi on all things LOVE in hope that they may be a solace to your heart and soul too ~
Rumi’s Soulful Advice on all LOVE
“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it.”

I wrote this poem last year to go with my still-life photograph during one of Joy’s ’30 Day Magical Photo Journey’ classes:
The candle within is the light of my heart.
The mantle within shelves the sight of my life.
The gentle within delves the plight of your heart.
The ample within is the delight of my strife.
The rain within is the sound of my soul.
What pain within give and I will stole.
The grain within I share to keep you full.
What gain within to round you whole.
Without light I will seek your heart.
Without sight I will remember your face.
Without help I will come back to this place.
Without everything I will fill your heart.
Outside share the falling rain’s rife.
