“Don’t start your day with the broken pieces of yesterday. Every morning we wake up is the first day of the rest of our life.”
When we start the day on a positive note, we stay in that positive zone for the rest of the day. Heightened levels of productivity, creativity and mental alertness simply become second nature, when the day starts on that positive footing.
But, how many of us actually DO start our day on that positive note?
Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t the morning high type either. Till about 2 years back, I was the ‘groggy don’t you dare talk to me till I get some coffee in me’ type! Yes, its true to the T. Just ask my hubby 😉
Then, I decided to start taking care of my health and get fit. Which became a challenge for me, since I never found enough time to exercise in my highly busy day. Work, home, being a mother and social obligations left very little time for exercise. So I decided to do it first thing in the morning. Getting into that routine was the hardest thing for me, since ‘groggy me’ was always on high alert in the mornings. But I did it! I changed my morning routine with a few simple strokes and believe me, 30 kgs lighters, pain-free and oh so calm{and sexier 😉 } me is proof of how a good morning routine works wonders in your life.
I’ve since called it my morning ritual, cause now I can’t live without it.
Here is the simple 4 point morning ritual I follow to stay on the positive upbeat track everyday.
4 Morning Rituals That Will Make You More Positive
1} Rise Early
“Lose an hour in the morning, and you will be all day hunting for it.” ~Richard Whately
That was my exact predicament. I always thought I was short of time to do the things I really wanted to do…until I started waking up early. I started waking up just before sunrise and believe me, I felt like I had a new charge within me, a lightning of ideas bursting to manifest. To rise early is to add hours to your day, you never really thought you had. How magical is that!?
2} Connect with Divinity
“Prayer clears the mist and brings peace back to the soul.” ~ Rumi
After rising early, the first thing I do is freshen up and pray. I need my time to connect with Divine energy. It recharges my spiritual batteries and clears my mind of any and all negativity.
You don’t necessarily have to pray to connect with divinity. You can meditate, do deep breathing or …whatever works for you and your soul. Your soul knows what it needs.
When I instill the beginning of my day with Divine energy, the whole day flows with that level pf peace and calm within, no matter what is happening on the outside.
3} Warm Water IN
“Nourish your body to nourish your mind and soul.”
This third morning ritual makes me and my tummy very happy. I make a mug of warm water with a table spoon of honey and a dash of lemon to wake me up. This combination not only wakes me up fully, but also has immense health benefits. Its good for digestion, weight control, combats cancer, natural anti depressant, clear glowing skin etc etc.
I choose to nourish my body, cause then I’m fully energetic for my next ritual…rather have enough for it. This natural pick me up keeps me going for a good while. You can add a fruit with this natural drink to add to its energetic benefits. A happy tummy is a happy me 🙂
4} Get out in Nature
“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” ~ John Burroughs
This! This getting off my back side and going for a power walk in nature has made me melt away layers of fat from my body and from my mind. Because getting out in nature and getting the body moving adds SO much energy within that its almost like a High. I’ve never done drugs, so don’t really know what that high feels like, but this High makes me feel like I can conquer the world and then some. That whole “I’m Unstoppable” feeling 🙂 The most positively high ritual there is. Plus on the physical front, when you have worked out and feel so good after, you don’t feel like shoving your body with anything polluted or unhealthy. Even the food choices become more positive!
See how some morning rituals can really make you more positive. Give it a try.
I hope my morning rituals inspire you to begin your very own. You will see and feel the benefits as soon as you start. My guarantee 🙂 ..and then you’ll be UNSTOPPABLE too!

I like the 4 the best and always try to go for a morning walk…a 20 year old ritual. Thanks for the reminders dear Zeenat…love and hugs 🙂
What fun if we lived close by na…we could go for a walk together in the morning 🙂 Hmmm..there is a thought…sending it out into the Universe.
Glad you liked this post.
xoxo, Z~
What a sweet thought! Many thanks for that. 🙂 Stay blessed and happy walking!
Yes, your morning rituals do inspire me! I love that they are simple, something anyone can do. I need rest, but I’m also doing my best to wake up early – around sunrise, like you – because I think being in accord with the natural rhythms of nature helps to bring our health back into balance. I’ve also found that fasting till lunch has made more time for me in the morning too.
Wonderful morning energies.
I love these rituals.I use Gratitude journal, meditation as connect with Divinity, Sacred dance in the nature, early morning. I really like. Thnak you, I am grateful for this post.
I also find that having a morning ritual is essential, and a great way to start the day. I love your 4 simple tips. One of the things I always have in my morning ritual is yoga. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hmmm… I’m just back from a little vacation, health “stuff” at a different level, 1st level of book launch activities are running… It’s time for me to re-evaluate my schedule for the next few months. Great suggestions and perfect timing. Thank you.
Beautiful post Zeenat! My morning rituals start my day in gratitude, love and light. It allows me to tap into my inner wisdom that guides me throughout the day. Thank you for these great ideas to add to my morning routine. Much love and blessings
What a beautiful routine! I am committing to starting my mornings with a tapping meditation to welcome in the new day with the right energy 🙂 Thank you for this great article 🙂
Such great rituals to start of the day. I enjoy much of the same rituals you have. I also like to wake up and say hello to my favorite mentors “Dr. Wayne Dyer” and Doreen Virtue”. They have both been such a great influence in my life and definitely keep me in a positive mindset. Great blog Zeenat!
Morning rituals have always been a challenge for me since I’m a night person. I hope one day, whenever it’s time, to get up early and take my me-time in the mornings… for now I’ll implement some of your great ritual ideas at night. Thank you Zeenat 🙂
Its so true, having morning rituals changes your day completely! I haven’t included number 3 in my morning rituals yet but i’ll try it out. Thank you for the ideas! 🙂
I love my morning rituals too Zeenat…first and foremost…before even jumping out of bed I give thanks for the wonderful day ahead of me. Then my cup of herbal tea and then 20 minute meditation. It makes all the difference in my day.
